I came here because it was a new Japanese chain to Utah. I was excited after seeing the menu. The place was clean and the service was great. The food was delicious but my problem lays with the portion of meat and the price of the meal. I know it’s unfair to compare it to its Japanese counterpart in Japan but it’s hard not to when that’s where the store comes from. The pictures do a good job at making the food look good but they portray the meals having A LOT of meat. The amount of meat I received from the beef bowl and the salmon bowl wasebt worth the price. The food was amazing but honestly it was mostly rice with a very tiny bit of meat. Of course I could have added extra meat right? But after paying 33$ for 2 meals (mostly rice. Rice is so cheap) I felt like it should have been enough. Also the drinks were almost 5 dollars. Is that standard in Utah now? I am very happy to welcome all Japanese chains to Utah. I love Japan and have spent a lot of time there but what usually happens is the price for the food goes up drastically(relative to Japan) and corners are cut on...

My wife is from Japan, and I’ve been there multiple times, so I know good Japanese food when I taste it—and this place is the real deal. It brings a unique DIY dining experience where you get to cook your own food on a sizzling hot plate, just like they do in Japan. It’s also super fun for kids since they get to watch (or even help) their meal sizzle right at the table!
The beef pepper rice is a must-try—the way the butter and sauce mix into the rice while it sizzles is chef’s kiss! They also have great steak, chicken, and curry options if you want to switch things up.
The best part? You control how everything is cooked, so it’s always fresh and exactly how you like it. Plus, the portions are solid, and the flavors are on point.
If you love interactive meals, bold flavors, and a fun dining experience for the whole family, Pepper Lunch is a great spot to try!

Read moreI didn’t even know customer service on this level existed, at to put it into perspective, I’ve experienced exceptional customer service from first class to five star hotels. I’ll say it again - this blows that out of the water.
One of the essential elements of a good experience is a surprise factor and they surprised us many times by assuring that we were having the best experience possible.
They brought our food out, brought us waters without us even having to ask, we went to enjoy the fountain outside and before we could even get to it they were at our aid helping us move our food to the outside tables.
Already worth the money but with customer service like that, I’ll be tell everyone and their dog about pepper lunch in Riverton!!
Highly recommend. Please support!! Mountain View village has high rent for these businesses and pepper lunch shouldn’t that be making ends meet...
