Darcy manager that was on site 10/15/2022 was very rude and discernment to my son and his three friends. I spoke with her and not to her knowledge I have already listened to a recording. She was rudely attacking all boys kicking them out giving NO VAILD REASON but ridiculous things like the boys where going in and out when they were going to the restroom as they stated to her in the recording “We can’t go to the restrooms?” “We can’t text our parents?” She was very irritated and just wanted them out. When I ask her “Why was my son and his friends being followed around from the beginning from another employee?” (my son was texting me when this was happening) She responded “We always follow teenagers coming in the theater.” Like seriously!. My son stated to the other employe “There were other non color teenagers around why weren’t they being followed? (this was after they paid for their tickets) they were told they are watching so they don’t theater hop!? Wth. They ask for a refund non was given. I called and requested a refund and Darcy stated she will not give a refund. WHY? My son and friends were already getting judge prior to going into the theater. My son and his friends are regular at Megaplex Theater located in South Jordan at The District and has never been treated in this way nor are these boys little troublemakers. Darcy stated to me over the phone that they were being very rude which is a lie. I listen to the recording and they were respectfully asking her valid questions on why they are getting treated this way SHE WAS RUDE and discriminating against these color kids. I’m disgusted by the way they were treated and how she was talking to them on the recording. I will be going in on Monday to speak to the GM. It’s one thing about not getting their refund but the whole situation was overblown by an individual that is call a “manager” whom did not handle herself as one. Highly disappointed that our children were treated this way. Racism is still...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO stars I would. I am writing to express my disappointment following a recent visit to your theater. During our visit, we attempted to use several arcade machines located inside your facility, all of which were branded with the Cinemark logo. Unfortunately, despite spending approximately $20, the machines failed to function properly and did not provide the expected gameplay.
What was more frustrating, however, was the lack of support we received when attempting to resolve the issue. I spoke with multiple Cinemark employees who stated that the arcade is operated by a third party and therefore not Cinemark's responsibility. While I understand the involvement of third-party vendors, these machines are located within your premises and carry your branding, which creates a reasonable expectation that Cinemark will stand behind the customer experience they deliver.
When I requested assistance or any form of compensation, I was repeatedly told by the manager on duty, Craig, that we would need to contact the arcade vendor directly. Despite calling the provided number, no meaningful resolution was offered, and when we shared our frustration, there was little to no empathy or acknowledgment of our concerns.
As a loyal customer, I believe Cinemark should take greater responsibility for all aspects of the customer experience within its venues. I would appreciate it if you could review this matter and consider providing some form of compensation or reassurance that steps are being taken to prevent similar situations in the future.
Thank you for your time...
Read moreJuly 9, 2022, was the first time, and probably the last time, going to Cinemark Riverton and XD, with being a new theater, the design team really screwed up; the staff left a bad impression as well.
When I first went in, I asked the person taking tickets where the restroom was and all they said was, “It’s over there,” no hand gestures or finger pointing, the restroom was just over there. I started walking down the hallway when I saw a manager and asked them and let them know what their ticket taker told me. The manager pointed to the restroom, which has very small signs that blend into the wall, so it is very easy to miss. In the women’s restroom the stalls are very small, you must straddle the toilet to open and close the door.
The concession stand employee was nice and helpful, slow at filling the popcorn bucket, but he was sweet.
In theater 11 the chairs are nice, they have heaters, but they are also very narrow so thankfully the arms rest goes up, but once the arm rest is up you lose your cup holder. When you put your feet up and lay back there is no room between your feet and the wall for people to walk past you, so you must put your seat in the up right direction.
There were other small infractions with the movie theater in a whole, but those are due to how messy the public is. The restroom had paper all over the place, children were running all over the place pushing every button on the Coca-Cola Freestyle, the staff was trying their hardest to keep up with the mess, but I could see they were having...
