We had an incredible experience hosting a "perfect pasta party" at Young Chefs Academy for my son's birthday. The team was wonderful and helpful throughout the booking process. They were accommodating when a friend showed up to the party without an RSVP and were able to roll with it effortlessly.
We booked the perfect pasta party and added on cupcakes, which turned out to be a great decision as it saved me time from bringing them. There was plenty to do with the pasta-making, and the cupcakes were a convenient and delightful addition. We were able to bring snacks and drinks for the other parents, which I was happy to do. We had two tables to decorate as we liked, adding a personal touch to the celebration.
The venue had windows for parents to view the activities, and some parents chose to stay while others were comfortable dropping off their children and returning at the end of the party. He was able to work at the front of the room as the "teacher" and as he worked, it was projected on the big screen. He is usually a shy kid but liked that special attention. At the end, everyone was invited in to sing "Happy Birthday," and each child went home with a hat and a set of recipes for what they made that day.
The children’s faces were priceless as they mixed the egg and flour, created the dough, rolled it out, cut it, split it, boiled it, and mixed it into the sauce. It was fantastic that they got to try both Alfredo and marinara sauces. They learned many new cooking and measurement techniques, making it an educational experience as well.
The best part of the party was that it gave me time to connect with other parents. As someone who is somewhat introverted when it comes to conversation, the shared experience of our children's first time at the academy provided a natural way to connect.
This was a special event and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you to the wonderful team at Young Chefs Academy for making my son's birthday...
Read moreOur 9 year old son attended a gathering with friends to celebrate a birthday at Young Chefs Academy. He absolutely loved the experience! The child-only class was led by amazing instructors. These chefs were patient and showed the junior chefs some techniques to make cooking fun! The junior chefs chopped, sliced and mixed ingredients to create Asian inspired food with quality -from -scratch ingredients. The young chefs made eggrolls that required ample amount of chopped fresh ingredients. Parents were not permitted into the kitchen but could view their young chefs through the glass windows. Parents tend to hover and take over so this separation actually is a benefit to the child. Young Chefs Academy offers a variety of classes and camps. This is an excellent way for a child to learn the art and joy of cooking in a clean, safe and beautiful environment. We purchased a safety knife and a nifty measuring spoon so that our son can try some recipes at home. We also left with an informational packet of camps, a calendar of events and recipes that he enjoyed cooking and eating. This is an amazing gem and we look forward to going again...
Read moreWe LOVE the Chef's Academy! My daughter received a birthday gift (11yrs old) for 2 visits to see if she would like it, and that was now over 2 years ago. At 13, she never complains about going, never wants to miss a class and loves her Chef teachers. Cooking and baking have now become a passion and she cannot get enough. When it came time to full fill volunteer hours for an 8th grade class, she asked the Chef Academy if she could help out during the summer camps, and they were happy to help. Thank you Chef Lin, Chef Meka, Chef Dottie and Chef Hedy for all that you have done...
