Have gone to Longhorn in Southington a few times & it’s always been great Tried the Rocky Hill restaurant as it’s closer for lunch on my birthday We’re given bread but no water & before the drinks came which were warm with a few ice cubes in the glass Ok no big deal However I ordered NY strip medium rare Well it came really well done & overcooked Server never came back to see how we were doing so there was no one to tell By the time they came with check I just put uneaten steak in container & fed to my dog when I got home Maybe they all had a bad day but I’ll go back to the Southington restaurant next time 2 stars because the baked potato was really good **UPDATE** Took a chance & went back after Southington restaurant fryer was broken & was so impressed at how much this place has improved since last August No wait time The hostess was friendly & server was fantastic! Had the salmon with rice & salad & everything tasted great Forgot to take pic 🤦‍♀️The vibe just felt better this time Left nice well deserved tip & will go back! Upgraded from previous 2 stars review from last year to 5 for everything

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed my dinner at this location. In my opinion it is better than the one in Manchester, although this one did just open so they do need to bring in business. Hopefully the quality will remain the same in the future. My husband and I both got steaks, I got the outlaw ribeye and he got the New York strip. His sides were the mac and cheese and asparagus. That baked mac and cheese was delicious. It was so good I started to order another to take home. My sides were broccoli and rice pilaf. Both were very good. The broccoli had a nice light buttery and garlic flavor and it wasn't mushy. The rice pilaf was cooked well and the carrots and peas were a nice touch. A lot of places make rice pilaf but it's not real rice pilaf. For dessert, we split the strawberry shortcake which was really good, it came out really cold which was unexpected but it was still good. I would definitely go back and the waiter wasn't bad either. Oh yeah, and the only app we got was the tonion onions I think it's called, basically their version of the onion. Blossom.

I checked out Texas Roadhouse in Cromwell first, should be opening soon. I've had a bad experience at another Longhorn Steakhouse so I had a chip on my shoulder. My complaints, no butter knives when they serve bread and butter is ridiculous. Only a dinner cloth and zero napkins, lol!! I ordered a 12oz Ribeye cooked medium, given the thin steak, it was cooked perfect, again, very thin, maybe technically a ribeye but an embarrassing ribeye. The cesar salad was great and he gave me plenty of extra dressing. The Brussel sprouts side was beyond yummy!! Great desserts that I didn't take advantage of, and I can't wait to try their grilled, looks Mexican style, corn on the cob!! There were about 12 teen employees surrounding the restaurant trying to look important, maybe 4 of them were doing anything productive. Remember, always, you get what you pay for, my meal was under $30 and I had water. It's hard for me to recommend, so I won't.

The ambiance is nice, as any Longhorn Steakhouse would be. We sat in the bar area, at a high top around 5:30… service was prompt, but almost too prompt. We had no time to even settle in before being asked what we wanted to drink 3 times over. When we “finally” ordered drinks they arrived timely (only ordered beers) In my opinion, if somebody orders waters first then you should wait until they are ready instead of continuously asking and making people feel pressured. The rest of the dinner was timed out well, except he forgot one of our salads, and never checked back to see if we all got our salad course. So, only one person had salad for that course. Dinner came, and he didn’t wait around or ask if we needed anything else, condiments, salt pepper (needed) or if we were missing anything, or even to check back and see if our steaks were cooked to our liking/ordering. One was well done, instead of medium rare. Two were medium, and not medium rare but tolerable to eat. So, after 10 minutes we had to bring it up to the bar and ask to have a new one cooked, since he was not coming around again. 20 minutes since plates were dropped, the “manager” who had no idea who had the wrong steak, brought a filet to the table, when clearly only one person was without food… auctioned it off. The steak was raw. It was informed to the manager on duty that it was not okay. No condolences to the table, and the food wasn’t eaten. It was not the bartenders fault, he didn’t cook the food. But what was his fault was forgetting a salad (bringing it to somebody at the bar instead) never checking on his table, and for the manager poorly executing a recook. The food wasn’t eaten, and not even a condolence or a discount was taken into effect....

We went on opening day and were quickly seated by the hostess, however our server was not as attentive. By the time she arrived to take our drinks we were already set to order our apps and entree’s. We also noticed that the table next to us that had the same amount of people were already getting their drinks thanks to their server being more attentive. Our steak and fries were way too salty and as a result a member in our party threw it up in the bathroom. Since they just opened I will try it out again in a couple of months but for now I’ll stick to the Manchester location.

Went back March 15 and had a worse experience. Called to ask about the wait time for party of 8 and they said currently no wait time. We arrived 10 minutes after and were told it’s a half hour wait. Okay fine. We waited half hour and asked how much longer they said 15 more minutes. Asked two more times and was told the same thing, 15 minutes more minutes. At this point we were considering leaving but had already waited so long so we decided to keep waiting. After almost a 1hr and a half wait we were finally seated. Our server was alright.

Do not...
