I've been buying 5-6 Keepsake Ornaments here every year for the past nine years. My family makes a traditional trip to choose an ornament for each person. I excused the indifferent behavior of the employees until now. This year, I decided to do a pre order and get the free tote. The ad said, "FREE Keepsake Reusable Tote: Offer valid while supplies last on Dream Book Wish List orders submitted in store or online and picked up at participating Hallmark Gold Crown stores in the U.S.A. only. Limit one Keepsake Reusable Tote per customer. Tax not included." I sent in my wish list to J's Hallmark online. When I picked it up, there was no tote. Even after I showed the employee my email receipt he wouldn't give me one because my name wasn't hand written on a list they had. He took my name, and a few days later I got a call to come get it. When I went in, the main manager (maybe owner?) didn't acknowledge me as I browsed a few minutes first, and I was the only customer. I finally had to go around and stand directly in front of her before she looked up. She didn't smile or greet me. I explained I was there to pick up my tote bag, and she started arguing with me about that was only for people who bring the wish list in person. I said the fine print was for O line too - it was sent to her store so she still got my business. She became extremely irritated, fumbled under the counter and then tossed a bag on it. I will drive to Springfield or Ft. Smith...
Read moreI was excited to learn that we still have a Hallmark store in northwest Arkansas. That excitement quickly dwindled upon actually visiting the store. I tried unsuccessfully for two straight days to get someone at this location to answer the phone to verify that what they show online is in stock in the physical store. The phone would ring twice and then go to a busy signal. After looking at the website one more time, I drove the 20 minutes from my work to the store to pick up an ornament. Their website said they had five remaining. When I arrived, the store was disarrayed and depleted of stock. The explanation I was given was that the website is never up to date, or they must have sold all their stock of ornaments that I was looking at within 20 minutes. The older woman who works there is less than helpful, and verges on rude. I feel sorry for the two younger women who have to work with her. I will not be shopping...
Read moreI took my 87 year old mother to this store yesterday to have "an outing". She has AZ and has been cooped up for the last year. We used to shop at Hallmark stores in FL where we lived for over 40 years. We were only in the store a few minutes when mom let me know she needed to use a restroom. I immediately asked the employee if they had a restroom mom could use and was told "no, you have to go to Dillards". I purchased the item mom had picked out and quickly left. As I was leaving I told the employee that I was very disappointed as I KNOW they have a restroom and she just wouldn't let mom use it. So our fun trip ended in total disappointment in how we were treated. Do only young people with no bathroom needs shop there? I know we won't be going...
