My boyfriend and I visited the Brilliant Earth location at the Galleria in Roseville yesterday to look into engagement rings. One of which we had already selected online and were ready to purchase. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
The staff member who helped us (I didnât catch her name, but she had red hair. Hopefully the store can identify her) made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by simply walking in. Her energy was cold, dismissive, and overall unpleasant. Toward the end, she even made a point to say, âThis isnât a store you can just come by. You have to make an appointment,â which really sealed the tone of the whole visit.
The contrast couldnât have been more stark just steps away at Tiffany & Co. One of the most iconic jewelry houses in the world. There, we were welcomed warmly without an appointment, invited to sit, and treated with genuine care and excitement. That experience helped us understand why Tiffany holds the reputation it does.
At Brilliant Earth, we walked in with the intent to buy. We walked out completely disheartened and chose to take our business to VRAI instead. I had heard before that Brilliant Earthâs customer service was lacking, but I really wanted to give it a chance because we loved the ring design. Sadly, the experience just wasnât worth it. This is such a special moment, and it deserves to be met with enthusiasm and respect, not indifference.

Complimentary chocolate and water during your visit and the ability to book appointments ahead of time. Thorough communication process after your appointment is booked until after your appointment is complete. The sales team does show that they care about your business. The reason for my four stars is the value of the jewelry. After having an in-person appointment and experiencing what BE has to offer, I had a gut feeling that their jewelry was not worth their asking price. They also have all these extra and time consuming steps to repair jewelry if something happens, no returns at all, and no true warranty. Just some third party warranty that is not included with the purchase of your jewelry. I was interested in their recycling methods for their bands, and how resourceful that is for the planet. However decided Iâd rather go with a local jewelry company that includes lifetime warranty, in house repairs, lifetime upgrades, and trade-ins on jewelry. She was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful throughout the entire process, she followed up with me every step of the way. Not only did she truly understand what I was looking for, but she also offered plenty of insightful suggestions I hadnât even considered.
What stood out most was how intellectual and detail-oriented she was. At the same time, she was warm, approachable, and made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel easy and enjoyable.
Itâs rare to find someone who combines genuine talent, deep expertise, and such a personable approach. If youâre looking for guidance at Brilliant Earth, I wholeheartedly recommend asking for Hajar. She turned an important purchase into a memorable and positive experience.
