I personallly like a bit more lettuce and onions on my cheeseburger. The burgers are tasty. Sometimes a bit too salty. The chicken is surprisingly good, better than chik f let ( not sure if they use foster farms or added antibiotic chicken or not)? Some locations have different atmosphere. They have one in Sacramento that is big with table games inside and outdoor patio - great place to hang out hot summer. But the brand new one just opened up in Folsom is as small as they come. I think they could have done more as they turned this furniture spot into burger joint. Across the street is Wendy’s , In Out, down the way is the Melt. Whole Foods even does burgers. And guess what none of them ask for or even give you option to tip. Why in the world does a fast food counter service spot ask for tip? I’m sick of these auto tips and amount is 18-20% before the service even starts. News flash tips were always meant for good service/ experience. So how do you tip when you first pay??? Why do you think you deserve a tip for bringing my food 14 feet? At the end the garbage with tray rack is there for me to throw away. So why why why? It’s ridiculous. It’s not like the food is cheap either at 5.00 for a fries that’s pretty small. I’m all for good pay to employees but that should come at the owners expense not the customer as we’re already pay a lot for. And it’s counter service. Read moreI work in the mall and have eaten as this location several times. It's the perfect spot for a burger if you want higher quality than McDonald's but cheaper than Buckhorn. I've worked in food service and know how difficult it is to iron out the initial kinks and get things off the ground. With this location being brand new to the area, they are often slammed with in person and mobile orders, as well as delivery courier orders. But every time I'm there while it's overwhelmingly busy I see how hard the employees are working to do the best the can, the fastest they can.
My overall review lost a star simply because special orders often get overlooked. I usually add vegetables to my Smoke Shack burger and I love getting the chocolate/vanilla shake- but almost every time I'm given just a chocolate shake and often the vegetables are left off. Not a huge deal as there is no up charge for adding on extras. But it would still be nice to get what I order. If I'm observing correctly it looks like some of the shakes are pre made, presumably to save time- but full transparency goes a long way with customers. If there's no time to give me the chocolate/vanilla option, just let me know!

When walked in line there was one guy in front of me it took 25 min to get to me with her chatting with the dude about Instagram. Ok at this point irritated but still ready for this shake and burger. I get up to the counter with this young lady who had no personality but whatever I ask for this golden burger She tells me they don't have it they ran out it's 12:15 lunch time on a Wednesday but ok I then look at the menu above with a giant ad for bourbon burger I ask for that instead the lady then tells me they don't have that here. Ok so at this point I'm little upset with that then I'm like ok cool let me get that shake get through the purchase and then I'm told you don't have that too. I left with out buying anything. Just recommend for this company don't put a giant ad for something in the middle of your menu if you don't have it. If you run out everything all I ask is put up a sign so I don't waste 30 min of my time. It also will help if you have associates they have just a little but of customer service.
