One star is one too many for this business. Very disappointed in the quality of work. I have 2 business computers that needed monthly maintenance. An older gentlemen, Phil came to the office. First impression was it obvious he was not very agile, had difficulty moving around the desk. It appeared he was not well. Then, he was combative from the get go, telling me I did not know anything, and if I wanted his help I needed to just listen. I therefore put my questions on hold. He had me crawl under the desk because he could not do it to get to plugs, etc. Then, while working on both office computers he deleted ALL the shortcuts off the desktops. Needless to say, it made it very difficult for my staff and myself to work and access files. There was now at least 4 or more steps to get to a simple file and the time involved was counterproductive. He said we cannot have shortcuts on desktops. Well, I've been in business 20 years and have had shortcuts the entire time. It makes accessing files simple. A friend of mine had his company computer guy look at the computers and said the work that Phil did was what was done in the industry maybe 20 or more years ago, and that there was no reason for him to delete ALL the shortcuts. On top of that there is a contract for a year and Phil said he would be doing monthly maintenance and he could do that remotely. Well, he has not been on the computers ONE time in 4 months and it was verified by 2 different computer people. He is still charging my business card $139 monthly. We had a great experience with Patriot. Jason took my son's dismantled gaming computer that was failing to power up from my 12 years olds rebuild. It was a rats nest of wires and a box of misc components, bolts and wires. He returned it to us in about 24 hours, fully restored and beautifully organized inside, viewable from the clear glass panels w RGB. The computer is running great and the stress at home from gamer vs parent is gone. The cost I believe was reasonable and the turn around time stellar! We expected to be out of commission for a week or more so getting it back in a days time was awesome. What brought us to Patriot was their long established presence in Roseville (10yrs+ in their current location), professional and secure appearance of their shop and plenty of good online reviews, which were confirmed by our own experience with Patriot. RED FLAG-RED FLAG-RED First...First thing out of techs mouth... Laptop difficult to get into. This man works on different computers daily. Opening a laptop is just part of the job, unless he was planting a seed for more money. Next...Parts are hard to come by... Laptop is less than a year old. After speaking to a real tech...parts are readily available. Another seed. Next...Before tech even looked at my computer he suggested I buy a computer he had on display. Now for the LIE.... After 5 days I was called, informing me the internal components were burned up... After speaking with a tech from the manufacturer...I was informed the construction of my laptop would require destroying the plastic keyboard cover to inspect/repair the unit... In other words... I paid $90 for a diagnostic that Did Not Happen!! Good Luck with...
