Updated 10/21 with a downgrade to 2 stars :Shame, this place is super close, solid food that is consistent. We've patronized throughout the takeout only portion or the pandemic (tipping very generously) and continued to. But after awful customer service tonight, we won't be returning.

I had called to place and order for pickup. The person answering sounded frazzled and said, "umi, please hold" Okay, ten minutes pass, I'm wondering if they're too busy to so an order but it was a celebratory meal so I hung in there. Ten minutes pass, I contemplated hanging up and calling back, but didn't want to lose my place in the queue, so I hopped in the car and headed over to find a mostly empty parking lot. Which is curious because even on non busy times/days parking in this lot is a challenge. Still on hold. Enter the restaurant, a whopping 3 tables were occupied with 2 -5 people at each. Still on hold. A gentleman came to the podium and asked if he could help me. I showed my phone screen still on hold (now at 22 minutes - told you it was close) and that I'm trying to place an order for take out. No apology for the excessive time on hold, not even acknowledging it. Placed and paid for order (not generously tipping this time) and was told to "give them 15-20 minutes". Son, I already gave you 20+ minutes, maybe consider your public facing language skills and choose better words. No offer of water while I waited. Just trash canned an establishment we spent the last 6 years going to and ordering from with stunning aplomb.

The food was solid and consistent as always. But if you want to be treated like chattle to get it, this is your place.

Always solid! It can be breezy by the door. Their ramen is solid as is their roll selection. Definitely a hidden gem, with a good sake menu! It can get busy, but you can call ahead for seating so you don't have to wait there. Then when you arrive at the agreed upon time, they'll seat...

Had some extra time so decided for the first time ever to eat at a restaurant with the express intent of writing a review. By no means am i am expert.

Firstly, service was very fast. I was seated immediately and given water immediately as well. The server was very kind and the atmosphere was casual and relaxed; the kind of place you could come anytime.

I ordered the Hamachi Kama ($17), Chirashi ($21) with tea. The Hamachi was cooked beautifully; lightly crispy on the skin and not dried out at all. It was really tender, i honestly may come back just for some Kama with rice.

The Chirashi was interesting. The rice i think could've been better, the texture felt a little off. additionally the octopus and shrimp didn't taste as fresh as the rest of the food, which was a little disappointing because otherwise the Chirashi would've been very good.

I decided afterwards to ask the server which nigiri he liked the most, and landed on the blue fin toro. $11 for two pieces is a lot, but it's Toro! I was not disappointed. The rice was the same as the Chirashi, but i won't take points off twice for that. The Toro melts in your mouth and it was the perfect way to end the meal.

I haven't tried the ramen or the rolls, but as far as these dishes go this place isn't half bad. It's not my favorite and it won't replace my go-to, but im gonna go back at some point!

I really liked this place for the "all you can eat" menu, but they have changed the menu. They now have an "all you can eat" menu that offers different pricing for lunch and dinner. However the premium pricing for "all you can eat" gives you access to the sashimi menu, but at a limited quantity, which defeats the purpose of having an all you can eat menu. I have visited this establishment multiple times before and they never limited the amount of sashimi you can order during the "all you can eat" menu time frames, and the prices were lower before they made this change. If you are paying for premium just know they will only allow you to order 15 pieces of salmon sashimi, 2 pieces of everything else, but you only receive 1 piece of the toro. I'm really disappointed and will be going somewhere else for sushi. Also, the wait time was very long. I ordered 1 order of the 15 piece salmon sashimi, and 3 Ugani hand rolls and it took a little over and hour to serve it. It also wasn't busy either, they are usually slow to serve when it's busy, but this time it wasn't and it still took too long. I recommend BF Miyabi. Their salmon sashimi is amazing, better quality, and they give you thicker cuts of sashimi. It is pricier, but at this point I would rather go there, because they are practically the...

Umi Sushi in Roseville recently expanded to an AYCE menu! The fish quality is superb and i love that their rolls are half-sizes so you can try a lot. Ramen was also mind blowing. Hits the spot for everyone! #sacramento #saceats #sacfoodie #aycesushi #sushi #foodtiktok #roseville

You DO NOT want to miss out on Umi Sushi . They’ve been named the top Sushi spot in Sacramento 6 years for a reason 🏆 I just came back from Japan not too long ago and can attest that the fish here is so fresh and high quality. The toro here is just 🤌 They also offer an AYCE menu or if you just want to get separate items can’t go wrong either way. 📍107 S Harding Blvd, Ste - A, Roseville, CA 95678 Follow for more travel & food content 🌸
