The Container Store — Local services in Ross Township

I am from Buffalo NY. I went to the container store in Pittsburgh after getting help designing a closet system locally(unsuccessfully). We talked to the greeter when we arrived( Ann I think)She was very friendly and helpful and set us up with a designer, Marcia. We told her roughly what we wanted and she went right to work designing. She explained different options and we loved her plans immediately. She gave us a rough draft to take home and get exact measurements. We sent back the measurements and they tweaked the design to a better fit. I then called back to make a few more adjustments. Each time the design team I spoke with were very helpful and not at all upset about more changes. We were finally happy with the design and ordered it to be shipped to Buffalo. They kept us informed of the progress and it arrived in several boxes over two days. My only complaint was that the packaging wasn’t very strong or secure. It looked like it had to be retapped along the way. But nothing appeared damaged. All the pieces were correct and cut properly. Along with what I needed to attach it to the wall and assemble. I was at the Container Store on McKnight Rd on 10/3/20 at 10:36am and the cashier was very rude to me. After I left, I checked the receipt and there was not a survey that I could take about my experience and the cashier's name was not on the receipt. I was just in the same store 2 weeks prior to use my birthday coupon and between then and yesterday when I went back because I needed more Zero Waste Caps, I received another coupon in my email about spend a $100 and get $10 off. I was aware of the offer because I check my email often. When I checked out, the cashier told me about my offer and she rung up my items and said to me, "You clearly do not have nowhere near $100 to use your coupon so maybe next time". I did not respond to her unnecessary comment and after the transaction, I left the store quietly. I have always had a good experience with the Container Store and I love going to this store and I have told several people how much I love this store. Very unimpressed. I need to put in a shelving system for my business. After explaining what I was looking for I was told they didn’t have anything like that. I found the product in the store and inquired about it. I just wanted to see a price and figure out what this project would cost. They wouldn’t show me without passing me off to one of their design team. Then I was taken to the part of the store that had some of the parts. The lady on the design team got the rails I would need and took them up front and tried to include a $7.50 4 pack of screws. I told her I had anchors and wouldn’t need them. You would have thought I slapped her. I asked where the shelves were so I could see prices and come up with what I wanted to do. I was told that’s not how it works. I’m sorry, I though it was a store. Long story short if you are a do it yourself kind of person, go somewhere else.
