Two stars for how great our kitchen looks. The process of getting said kitchen is why I took three stars off.
Firstly, the "5 day install" that is advertised is completely and utterly misleading in the most extreme way. Once you meet with your designer (who you will never hear from again) and settle on a kitchen build out, you will wait months until the project begins, then once it begins you'll wait several weeks or more until it is actually complete. Yes, you may be able to turn your sink on and off, etc, after 5 days, but this isn't what most people expect when they hear the slogan advertised.
The most disappointing part about working with Frugal is the general lack of communication and sense of complete confusion throughout the process. Expect to hear from a dozen different people through from start to finish, with almost none of them really knowing the ins and outs of your specific job. As I mentioned before, once your design is set, your designer is hands-off, so don't expect to be able to talk to them beyond that first meeting. Getting in touch with someone familiar with your kitchen is nearly impossible, with different answers, timelines, and questions re: your kitchen all coming from 5-7 different people.
The working men who physically completed our kitchen were all very nice and we feel like they took pride in their work, and it showed (for the most part -- there were a few mishaps, which is to be expected).
The last thing I'll mention is a feeling of annoyance or that you're an inconvenience when speaking to 75% of Frugal staff. They seem to be bothered by questions or inquiries and you can tell that it probably goes all the way to the top -- the owners of this company are probably hard to work for, or are pretty non-operational. Oh yeah, expect to receive a few mystery invoices several months after job completion for things that were unorganized and lost in the billing cycle that you've either completely forgotten about, or didn't know about to begin with.
Do your research before choosing a remodeler, like we should've done, and maybe use more of a mom & pop company that cares a bit more about...
Ā Ā Ā Read more10x18 bathroom reno- tub to walk-in shower, new vanity. The planning process was good and the assigned coordinator was very responsive in the planning phase. However, the renovation execution experience was not good. Some of the installers were not competent and did not respond well to feedback. Some scheduling issues and miscommunications. Coordinator was not customer focused and sometimes rude. There was no quality control on site from a coordinating person. Too many different contractors that didnāt know the overall project. Little attention to detail and lack of cleanliness on my floors, carpets and walls. The tile contractor was outstanding and did a beautiful, quality job. Maybe the coordinator was having a bad few weeks. I would not use this company for a bathroom if you want a smooth experience. You will need to do a lot of babysitting. Then again, the price was low; could be a case of you get what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend this business at all. Ignore their $15,999.00 kitchen price because they have so many hidden charges. By the time we were done, we paid $21,396.42. We knew there might be a few additional charges, but we feel they were extreme. We would give them a minus 5 stars because Nancy in their office called up screaming at us when we had a concern about installation. "You have a signed contract, so you can't back out!". We were not trying to back out but had questions about why we kept getting extra charges $175, $450, $90, $648.84 every time they came out. Nancy was so unprofessional and just so nasty. It made the whole installation uncomfortable after that, with their in-house people sent out to work on our kitchen. The best part of it was their contractors who...
