I personally don't leave a lot of negative review unless it's really warranted. I have never in my entire life had such a horrific experience. I purchased over $5000.00 worth of appliances during Home Depot's thanksgiving sale. I'm renovating my home and decided to purchase a 36in downdraft to go with my jenn air range. At delivery a few weeks ago my contractor realized the blower box was to large and would take up too much space. I immediately called the online hotline and was told to bring it back to the store that delivered it which was this Roswell location. Keep in mind the downdraft was never installed never taken out the box just opened. I took it back to the store right away and that's when all hell broke loose. I was told since it was a online item it couldn't not be returned to the store?! I explained that was not what I was told online. The manager who I had to ask for tells me online does their own thing. Their original proposal was I could sell the item myself! This is a brand new over $1000.00 down draft and your only option is for me to sell it myself because and I quote "I should have rejected it at delivery". I had to argue for 30 mins that I did as I was told and brought the item back within 48 hrs. The manager then decided not to refund my money but to give me in store credit that I could use for a island range hood and the remaining balance I wanted to purchase a built in wine cooler. I was told come back to the store to make my purchase because I couldn't use the card myself. How I didn't recognize this Huge red flag is my own fault but I had to leave for work. Fast forward I go back to the store to purchase my 2 items and after maybe 45 mins I'm told I can't use the instore credit for online items! I'm a fairly patient person but I'm now pissed! I'm told why don't you use the credit for items in the store and purchase the addition items with your credit card. I'm owed $1017.16 and didn't need anything else in the store. These people are horrible! I waited a month for my instore credit to be transferred to a gift card so I could make my purchase. Every time I've called the store it's "O corporate has to send the card and it's being mailed or we are doing everything we can" All lies!!! I finally today got fed up of waiting and after 45mins with Home Depot Resolutions I will have a ONLINE GIFT CARD sent within 24-48 hrs. These local Roswell folks couldn't make anything happen since January 11th! I will never go back to this store horrible customer service. Word of advice for you guys leave notes in the system so when a customer calls for a update the working manager knows what's going on instead of saying the manager you dealt with is on vacation and won't be back til Tuesday! Thank goodness for the kind soul that took pity on me from the 1-800 number she was a god...
Read moreBought stove, refrigerator, diswasher. Should've been an enjoyable experience, but Home Depot has made it utterly miserable instead.
The dishwasher arrived (Team 1, I'll call them) with large dents. Had to return it. The delivery people kept preventing me from inspecting the refrigerator, standing in front of it, saying that there was plastic in front of it. Not until they left did we discover a dent in the lower right door of the fridge. We have an appointment for repair.
When the dishwasher finally arrived (Team 2, I'll call them), they said they wouldn't connect it because our plumbing wasn't right even though we insisted that Team 1 had no objections to installing it. They insisted that we had to re-do our plumbing first. When I asked if they could haul the old dishwasher now, they said no, not until we re-did our plumbing.
I would never do any of this again. The contractors that Home Depot uses are always in a HUGE rush, always trying to avoid doing work, poor communications. If you want an enjoyable experience, I suggest you buy elsewhere.
12/11 4:40 PM - after dozens of phone calls, dishwasher installed by Team 3. After installation, we noticed the front bottom dented from pushing it in too hard (wasn't dented in the driveway).
12/12 5:50 AM - dishwasher turned on in the middle of the night and flooded our kitchen. Antique cypress floors warped and buckled.
3/29 5:00 PM - Home Depot's Sedgwick insurance paid for our floors to be replaced, so we have new floors after...
Read moreMy dad is a contractor and ever since I can remember Home Depot has been the go Home improvement store. This past summer I bought my first house here in Roswell, GA. I’ve spent at least $15,000 in the store In the past six months. My last big purchase 2 weeks ago was a large tool chest.
It was so big I had to have 2 other people help me get it into my house. After filling it with tools the locking mechanism broke with all my heavy tools locked inside. What a nightmare! I went to the store to try to find a solution. Two employees helped me try to find a way we can get inside without breaking it. Unfortunately there isn’t a way to do so without cutting the back of it open. I decided just to keep it instead of returning due to the size, weight and difficulty of returning.
One of the managers however actually gave me a gift card for almost half of the cost to reimburse for the damaged product. I was so happy with this and I appreciated the fact I didn’t have to bring it back in. I was worried I would never want to shop here again, but they were so helpful I walked out a happy customer. Thank you for your great customer service and understanding of my predicament. I love Home...
