This is the first negative review I’ve ever had to write in my life, but my experience with this place was not a positive one. I went to this salon with the intention of getting a simple blow out and trim. My hair is natural, but I like to go to the Dominican salons once a year because they usually do a decent job on my hair. Long story short, I decided to try this place for the first time. I was very pleased with my hair when the stylist was done. Although the way she requested a tip rubbed me the wrong way, especially now. Anyway, about 3 weeks later while washing my hair, I noticed there was a foul sulfur- like smell coming from my hair. It smelled exactly like a relaxer would. I also noticed that my curl pattern had changed significantly. It was much more loose and silky. Mind you I’m atleast a 4b, if not 4c. It wasn’t until my a recent wash that I started noticing EXCESSIVE shedding. Entire curl strands were/are still falling from my hair with the slightest comb through and it’s been atleast 2 months since I’ve seen them. Ive also got some heat damage as well. I’ve heard about some of these Dominican salons slipping relaxer into the shampoo, and I think that exactly what this salon did with my hair. Now, judging by all the positive reviews, I’m sure many people have had a positive experience with this place. However, I was the unlucky one. I would not recommend you get your hair done here, especially if you are natural. If you do decide to risk it, please make sure you ask about the products they’re using on your hair. I have been a client of this salon since it open its door in our neighborhood. The service was ok, never great and prices were a bit high, but it was convenient for me and that's why I went there. I booked a blow out for my daughter's quinceanera a month in advance with Alex. she promised she would do her hair as well as a hair do. I called her a week before the event to remind her of my apptm. She said we were all set.

I arrive as scheduled, to find out she had left for the day. There was one person seating there who was terrible and said that if i wanted to, she could help, but didnt really seem like she wanted to help.

Let me just say that when I called Alex I was beyond irriate, and I had a good reason to be. Her response was that she forgot about me, but that she had other people there to help me. And that was not okay with me. She didn't even have the decency to call me in advance to let me know. She got upset at me and told the other hair stylist to NOT help me and to NOT do my daughter's hair. My daughter's quinceanera was the next day! it was the worst experience I have ever had with this salon. Don't come here. Its all too expensive and the staff is unprofessional, especially Alex the owner.

I truly dislike leaving a one-star review, but in this case it’s well deserved. Would have left zero stars if this was an option. I searched for a Dominican hair salon and chose this one because of its proximity and decent reviews. Booking online was easy, and I even received reminders leading up to my appointment for Friday at 12 noon.

However, when I arrived, the door was locked. I knocked, but no one answered. Looking inside, the salon was completely empty as if it had been closed for days. The posted hours clearly state they open at 10AM. I tried calling the number listed online, but no one picked up. I waited until 12:15, and still, no one showed.

While I understand that emergencies can happen, a professional business should notify clients, whether by phone, email, or an online update if they will be closed. As a woman, it also raises concerns about the LEGITIMACY AND SAFETY of the business when this happens without explanation.

This was my first time here and unfortunately, I will never return and will be finding another salon, where the owner shows courtesy to clients and communicates properly. Please don’t waste your time coming here,...
