Do yourself a favor - check their prices before you go anywhere else. Their quality is great, too.
Some time ago, we got a keyfob for my wife's newer Toyota Camry. Actually, I should mention that my wife got the keyfob because it's not always safe to send my wife to some shops alone. The dealer had quoted us a prohibitive price. But Mike's was very reasonable. And, after we got it, we couldn't tell the difference between the two - Toyota logo and all. Her car used the key to start the car and it would hang up, sometimes, when I tried to flip open the key. So, I carried that one for a while until I realized that there was a piece that holds the key into the fob that wasn't pressed all the way into the key and was dragging. I pressed it the rest of the way in and it's as good as new. I'm sure they would have fixed it if I had asked them, but I stopped by, once, and they were at lunch. Doesn't matter - I fixed it and it's good as new, now. (Maybe better)
Fast forward a few years and I finally got a nicer car. Of course, it only came with one keyfob. I asked the dealer and it was prohibitively expensive, again. Later, I ran into (not literally) a mobile locksmith hawking car keyfobs in the Sam's Club parking lot. I asked them what it would cost and should have been tipped off by them mentioning what the dealer would probably charge, suggesting that my Sam's Club membership somehow got me a discount, and fear mongering of what would happen if I lost the one key. I mentioned that mobile locksmith's price to my wife and she's like, "We should check that place in Rowlett that made the keyfob for the Camry." We don't even live in Rowlett, anymore, but on my first day off, I gave them a call and their price was about half of what the mobile locksmith had quoted! 😲 Yes, please!!! I'm planning to drive the 30min from our new home, this afternoon. I'm sure they'll do a great job and I just hope my wife doesn't use the new keyfob to go cruising in my car without me! 🥺😂
Update: Yep, they produced a keyfob identical to (or better looking than) the original at the price they quoted and in less time. I don't know whether to give my wife the new, prettier one or the old one. But, I'm happy to give them my business and pass along this review to save folks from going without a quality keyfob at a great price. Did I mention that Chris(?) is super friendly? He was - both on the phone and...
Read moreFirst I want to say I NEVER write these BUT, I was blown away by the quality and service of the Micahels keys in Rowlett!!!!
My Story: I went to the Michaels keys in Dallas and immediately when I walked in no one was there to help, when someone finally showed up I told them I needed a key. He told me that it wouldn't be possible. Didn't even let me explain or was trying to be helpful.
From the Dallas store I traveled all the way to the Rowlett store because I really needed to get this key made. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Chris. I explained my situation without mentioning what happened in Dallas he immediately began to drive resolve my issue. Was polite and very nice throughout the entire interaction. When I finished paying I explained to him what happen to me in Dallas and CHRIS apologized for the store in Dallas. He didn't have to do that but that shows he values his craft and his business.
The Michales Keys in Rowlett will always have my business because they value the customer and that is VERY rare in todays businesses. Thanks again Chris and Micheals Keys in...
Read moreLet me just say that Chris and his staff are beyond exceptional. My word would be either PHENOMENAL or SUPERB! He got the skim code for my Dodge Ram truck after Rockwall Dodge wouldn't give it to me even though I'm the registered and insured owner of the vehicle. That being said after proper advisement from Chris on product codes I bought 2 remote keys on Amazon for $20 and Chris programmed them for a little over $50. Then a couple of weeks later my hard top tonneau cover lock wouldn't open. Chris and his staff got it open, adjusted it and charged me nothing. Then brought our other vehicle back the same day to have the secondary remote fixed after I had tried putting a new battery in it. Chris fixed it for $5! These guys are trustworthy and honest and helpful and I would make them choice #1 for anything involved with...
