We were recommended a contractor by a salesman in the countertop section. R. Brown Construction Mendham NJ. Do not trust the salesman’s recommendation at Home Depot or the contractor R. Brown.
We are having to hire people to fix this con artist team’s mistakes after he refuses to finish he job. My parents are in a limited income. My father served 20 years in the Army and is very limited in his ability theses days. This man came in our home talking a big game that he could help do right. The countertop company came and couldn’t install the first time because the contractor’s carpenter argued with my mom and didn’t measure correctly (very insulting to my mother). After that was fixed, by my brother, the countertops have been installed, no thanks to the people we PAID to do the job. We have not heard from Robert Brown. We need a sink and now found that their people cut the main drain pipe and will have to hire a plumber to fix that. Honestly, there is more but I am too angry to continue listing the electrical and cabinet issues.
On top of all this, the price that was paid (which kept getting higher) and now we have an unfinished kitchen that does not look like a professional worked on it at all. I suppose after this we didn’t actually get a professional after all. The Hope Depot recommendation was of a con artist not a professional.
Every morning my mom bought the employees Dunkin Donuts coffee and donuts. She understood the times, wanted to be welcoming and the job wasn’t small. How this man R. Brown can treat two elderly people so cruelly, especially after they treated him and his employees with kindness is unbelievable.

Read moreI placed a special order for 26 interior doors, moulding and a few other items with John R at the Doors dept. He promised that the doors will take about week to be delivered to me ( they were not in stock). Since it was only a week, I chose to have the moulding and the rest of the items be delivered the next day. After multiple calls back and forth, I was told that special orders take a month. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and felt simply lied to. I was stuck with the long pieces of moulding that were a tripping hazard. I was juggling a few projects and I was trying to schedule the doors installation with my contractor. I spoke to multiple people including a few managers and that only led to more frustration. Walt, the manager, was not interested in addressing my issue with John. I had to ask him to look at my order and let me know when I will have the doors. He finally looked at the order but his demeanor was unacceptable. He never apologized and he was talking to me in a demeaning unprofessional way. I have left messages for Denise as I learned that she handles the orders. I never received a call back. I have spoken to Bert at Millwork twice and he promised to call me back and never heard back. I also spoke to a few other employees and never received a call back. John has not been very communicative either. In addition, he ordered the wrong hinges and a door which then I had to arrange a transport to return them. Recently, I have been getting calls that I have a door for pick up. Read moreI was renovating my kitchen and purchased all my appliances from home depot. In addition, I purchased a new sliding glass door. I wanted to be sure that when my appliances came, the delivery company would be able to move and haul away some appliances. The rep from home depot said she checked with the delivery company and it was all good. A week later, the delivery company showed up and said that they could not move my refrigerator and would not bring any of the other appliances into my house so they left with all the appliances. I called back the rep and explained what happened and she rescheduled the delivery and confirmed that everything would be delivered as per our agreement. Another week later, the delivery company shows up again and won't move my refrigerator again stating it was against their policy. In addition, the new refrigerator was damaged. They left again with all the appliances. I ended up cancelling my order and purchasing from Designer Appliances in Bedminster. They delivered everything, installed what needed to be installed and moved and hauled away my old appliances. I will never use Home Depot again as their delivery company is the worst.
