Came here for a get-together of around 15 total people. It was a Thursday at around 4 p.m., and the place was mostly empty aside from about 3 tables.
The group we were with had 5 people sitting at one table, 7 at another, and 3 at the bar. The whole thing was just casual hanging out, drinking, watching sports, etc. This was not a formal sit-down meal or any type. This was a go out and hang out with your friends' kind of vibe.
After waiting about 10 minutes at a stand-up table with some of the group, no server showed up. So, I approached the bar and attempted to order a drink. The bartender, very bluntly and coldly, told me that they would not serve me at the bar and told me to sit down and wait for my server. I thought it was a joke, so I asked her if she was serious, to which she said yes and explained that because we entered the place with a group, we were required to use a server. I confirmed this with a second bartender who also refused to serve me. I could not believe this. Both bartenders stated it was so that the server could get the tips. I offered to tip both them and the server just so I could get my drink and not have to wait, but I was again refused.
So to clarify, if you walk into WOB with a group of people and don't immediately sit at the bar, you are not allowed to buy a drink at the bar and walk back to a stand-up table and drink with your friends. Even on a slow day with an empty restaurant. Yes. They literally will refuse to serve you.
I went back to the stand-up table, pretty offended at this point, and waited another 10 minutes. The waiter finally shows up, takes someone else's order, and vanishes for another 10 minutes. At this point, 2 others in my group got pretty upset at the horrible service and bad attitude of the wait staff.
Several ordered food, including the pretzel and burgers. The consensus was that the food was average.
Finally, a few got their drinks. The consensus was that the drinks were overly sweet and lacked strength. The few who were able to get drinks closed their tabs, and we all went to the brass ring, which was 100x more inviting and friendly with way better drinks.
I'll put this plainly. Do not refuse service to your customers. I don't care if it's some silly restaurant policy or not. Use good judgment and common sense. Your restaurant lost out on probably $1500+ in sales that day, and who knows how much future business from all of us.
Sincerely, the whole point is to serve the customer so you can make money and continue to grow the business. Turning away business due to some bizarre policy accomplishes nothing more than hurting your...
Read moreWhere to begin? My fiance and I love going here and visiting it pretty frequently, and we're very happy with it til today. Today, as usually we went to have dinner and a couple of drinks. We ordered appetizers, flights, wings, and chicken tacos. We were getting odd feelings when they took forever to receive the Arichoke dip? I had ordered wings as usual with 2 sauces, Buffalo, and Korean style. They took long in receiving, although the waitress excused herself and said sorry was out of her hands and cooks were not helping. Okay, no problem, right? Wrong. When we received wings, the wings were made wrong by staff, and all were dipped in Korean sauce that was flaming spicy. The staff that brought out wings I told I ordered half Buffalo and half Korean? She went back to inform the kitchen, never to return. I saw our waitress she said sorry and that she would go back to the kitchen and find out what happened? When she returned, she said that the new manager, which name is Victor, said to collect 5 of the wings and take back to the kitchen, and the reason is that we probably just wanted free food!? Seriously!? I was super hot that he had audacity to blame customers for cooks' mistakes and not even give his face. I have never seen any place wanting to take half food back that was to be replaced a cause of wrongly prepared food and then blame customer as if we wanted to get freebies!? I specifically told the waitress I didn't want wings and didn't trust the food she brought out. She said she totally understood, and I asked if there was another manager on site that this was unacceptable. A manager by the name of Monica came out and was super nice and gave face and knew it was an embarrassing scene for both restaurant and customer and tried making matter better and excusing the so called Victor which we never saw and she tried not naming. I never ate the wings that I took home, which were replacements, as I wasn't hungry anymore and lost my appetite. I gave them to my my son, and something was done to replacement wings as my son said they were un-eatable and ridiculously spicey as if done on purpose. I am very dissapointed in WOB and Victor and kitchen staff. Ownership should really look into this matter and is unacceptable as a serious matter and putting customers 1st, and in good health. Monica, the manager and waitress, tried to be very accommodating but the blame should be placed solely on kitchen and "victor" which never came out to excuse his actions and behavior and neglect of...
Read moreWe decided to venture to this Palm Beach location today of all days. We walked in the door at 2:39 pm. I counted about 20 patrons inside. I noticed the resturnat owners took time on detail with the decor, notice it's self-seating. I found a table for a party of four near the window. The manager was seated at a table behind us doing work. While seated, I watched the waitress walk up and down the floor not once acknowledging our table. I took note there were no other people making orders, seeing they were all at the bar. And one other person at a table which already eating. After 7 minutes of waiting a lady came from behind the bar and brought over a menu and said she would return with more menus. Well, she didn't return. Finally, after 15 minutes of no one attending to our table. The manager looked up and asked if our drink order has been taken. I said, no. The manager took our drink orders and went back to where she was. The same waitress that paid not one ounce of attention to the table came over 5 minutes. Keep in mind the manager had previously took our drink orders including the kids drinks. The waitress walked away and came back 5 minutes later to take our orders. At this point, we were all totally over it!!! Another 7 minutes went by, we saw another bartender walk to 2 other tables with our drinks before he came to our table. At that time I told him he can take the drinks back. Only thing that sat at our table were drinks for the kids. For sanitary reasons, I asked for individually wrapped starws. I was told there were no straws. I asked what starws would you give a customer for carry-out? The waitress seemed annoyed with the question and request and walked away. This by far has to be the worst service of hospitality I have ever had, some places have bad service. To my observation this is bad, from the moment we sat down the waite was ridiculously long and unacceptable seeing there were little to no people inside this establishment. The poor customer experience for me was ruined completely. This is a new location and for the lack of care and service I received. I couldn't say I would want to spend my money in a place that treats me like an invisible person. I had to walk out of this place and spend my time and money where hospitality is...
