Berts saltwater tanks are full of disease. If you buy fish from here be prepared for the fish to have velvet and ich potentially wiping out your whole tank. I have been in the saltwater hobby for over 20 years and have tried to buy from berts but their fish never make in through quarantine and usually die in days. I tried to buy a coral beauty from them Friday even though my gut told me not to. Bought the fish on Friday and it was dead by Monday. Another 65 bucks down the drain. I will drive 4 hours out of my way to buy quality fish or order online. Berts is ran by a bunch of kids who have no idea what they are doing. I recommend ordering from reef beauties .com because their prices are a lot cheaper and they have a 15 day guarantee on fish unlike berts that won't take responsibility for their sick fish. I wouldn't recommend buying a guppy from berts. Since I can't comment on berts response I will edit my review. The first you have heard of this? Nonsense! There are multiple review on Google and Facebook that state the same experience of sick fish. I have also seen your response to all the negative reviews and you are always full of excuses. I was there to look at a black shoulder tang but after seeing how skinny and sickly that fish was there was no way I would pay 200 bucks for a fish on deaths door. A responsible person would put that fish on hold and keep it until it was healthy. It is very obvious you are just trying to make money off sick fish. Irresponsible pet store owners is what drives people to order online because most LFS haven't got a clue. Keep making excuses because you are better at that than selling...
Read moreI spent roughly $4000.00 over 2 years with them. Wanted to upgrade my lights for fish tank. Measured and took pictures of tank. Got new top and lights. That was $150.00 both. They said they knew which tank it was and the light and top that would fit. Remember this is their business, they are supposed to know. Well they would not fit. Wrong stuff so I took it back. They said has to be the other one. No problem went to exchange then the girl wanted to charge restocking fee. Hold on this is what you all told me to get. This is your mistake. Called out the owner. He exchanged no problem. The kid, girl working there when I asked said “yes I have no problem charging you restocking I feel good about it”. I got fish from them. They were $70 of fish was only 3. Did not make it to the house. Roughly 15 min in. I noticed they were dying. Went back to store they wanted water samples. They were never in my tank. Got fish from them 2 another times. The fish I got were sick had to deal with healing the other fish in my tank. Found out each time they came from a sick tank. If you look and they have an x or a circles on the tank if the fish are sick or the tank had disease. That is what I got diseased fish. SO I DO NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU NEED ROCK THEY HAVE A GOOD SELECTION USUALLY . That is about it. Every thing is so over priced. The fish I got from them Kissing Gourami. They charged $70 for 3. The same fish were at PetSmart for $3.59. They did not replace them. PetSmart will replace them no questions asked. ASK YOURSELF A QUESTION WOULD YOU BUY FROM THEM AFTER THIS. Either I have told the truth...
Read moreI absolutely adore this place! About two months ago I went in and bought myself a betta, 10 gallon tank, and some live plants and only spent about $50. The betta (photos attached) was in pretty good condition and the way they keep their bettas is amazing! I would definitely recommend coming to these people for betta fish and basic tank needs.
On the other hand I noticed the birds are very skittish and appear to be stressed. Im by far no expert at birds, I only have two parakeets, so I may be wrong! I also noticed no staff is ever really around/helping customers with the smaller birds but only the bigger more expensive ones.
The customer service also isn’t the best in this store, I’ve had to ask several times in the same visit for help for the same thing rather it be getting fish, asking for recommendations or etc.
The bunnies (as of the last time I was in the store) we very friendly and socialized, same with the ferrets but they did nip at me completely understandable as the sign said they could and might bite.
The dog and cat section, though fairly small, is pretty good! All the necessary things for your animal and some cute extras.
In all, the prices are a bit high but you really get what you pay for, your $12 betta from here is going to be in better health than your $4 betta from pet smart. I would definitely recommend for people looking for fish stuff (fresh and saltwater) If you’re looking for a smaller bird then petland or pet smart will be the way to go with more socialized...
