Dr.Akbar shared his expertice with me on Nov. 1, 2016. Dr. Akbar operated on my lower spine, replaced eroded bone with bone from my hip, fused a couple of vertabrae and took care of the spinal stenous. After healing at home for 10 weeks, it was good to get back to work. Dr. had me in a brace for six months and that was a big help in healing. Dr. and his staff have taken excellent care of me, every single person on his staf including Dr., have so much compassion and concern for me, the patient. The same can be said for the medical staff and pastoral care at St. Mary's. My quality of life is improved so much! I no longer rely on pain meds, 2 aspirin a day is all I take. I don't wake up in the crying in the night because I tried to turn over. Life is enjoyable again. Thanks be to God and Dr....

DR. WAHEED AKBAR is an amazing, caring, professional Doctor/surgeon who has an awesome bedside manner with a slight personal touch. He always takes care of me first but never forgets to ask about my family by their names. I would ever go anywhere else. I totally trust his expertise and knowledge of his trade. He doesn't push you into anything, always waits for me to decide I've had enough pain and hurt and then let him fix me. My results are fantastic although any surgery is scarey. Thank you Doctor Akbar...oh and by the way...you can never retire! If you need back, knee, hip replacement surgeries...he is the man...i've had total success with mine! The staff is loyal...

Due to moving to Michigan had to start insurance process, new drs, and referrals. Was told Dr Waheed Akbar was the best around. Got processes going forward for total knee replacement surgery. Just had knee surgery on March 12th. I could barely walk prior to surgery. Day of surgery was up and walking. Every one in Drs office was friendly, professional, and efficient. Surgery team was the same great team. Dr Waheed Akbar is great at what he does. I have way less pain 2 weeks out of surgery than I had prior to surgery. I am amazed. My knee was awful.
