Island Life Bikes — Local services in Saint Augustine

Glenn and Annette, the owners, and their staff are wonderful people and I could not give this shop a higher recommendation. During my vacation in St. Augustine, I rented bikes for our stay and kayaks for one afternoon. We had some trouble - minor, with a bike cable lock jammed (Glenn had to come and cut it off); and major, on the kayak outing when a quite unexpected "King tide" came in, preventing us from reaching our put-in point on the return paddle and then stranding our car - but at every point, the Island Life staff was there to help. They even drove us to our rental condo and came back hours later - in their personal vehicle, after hours - to retrieve our car when the tide went out again, and then, going totally above and beyond, had us follow them to the local hospital when I needed medical attention. For a shop as bustling and busy as this, the level of service was top of the line. If I ever have opportunity to vacation here again, I will be back! THANK YOU, Glenn...

Not gonna lie, I wasn’t looking forward to trying out this store because, let’s be honest - a lot of bike shops have people working that aren’t very customer friendly & odd personalities. At least in my experience. Anyway - I needed to get some accessories for an e-bike I recently purchased. Did some reviews of the shops in my new area (recent move) & decided to check out Island Life based on reviews, especially since they were well stocked, per the reviews. Met Jacob who quickly dropped what he was doing (didn’t expect that) to assist me. He was pleasant, answered all my questions, and was able to quickly help me purchase everything I was looking for. Prices were reasonable too for a brick & mortar store. As an individual who’s not immersed in the cycling/biking scene, I may not bring a ton of business on my own, but I do plan on being a customer of theirs as long as they continue to operate the same way & I’ll be sure to recommend to my family and...

Years ago we purchased a couple Sun Cruiser bikes from Island Life Bikes. Based on that positive experience, we returned and purchased a Sun Baja Trike most recently. Colin was our sales representative and was awesome. He answered all our questions and was extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of biking and their product lineup. Additionally, we had the opportunity to use the service department as one of the trikes pictured was purchased second hand and needed repair work done. Jacob in service was prompt, knowledgeable, and went over all items in need of repair with us personally. We made an appointment in advance for our particular service. At the same time, he made ready our brand new Baja Trike without notice and still completed our repair in a very timely fashion.
