T.J. Maxx — Local services in Saint Joseph

I used to adore this location, however I visited today with my family and had utterly the worst shopping experience. There were three young ladies running the checkout when we walked up to pay, one checker was with a customer and the others had their arms folded leaned against the back counter deep in conversation. The light on station 1 was on and both girls were standing just behind it so we walked up with our cart of items thinking they hadn’t recognized us and we patiently waited to be helped. They both glanced at us and one of the girls stepped up to the register beside us and started to call customers up from the line behind us while the other smirked at us and kept her arms folded observing the other checkers. They called up three customers behind us and didn’t acknowledge us again. We left our items on the counter and took our business elsewhere, as we walked away she gladly grabbed our items off the counter and placed them behind the registers. I’ve never went into a store and been blatantly snubbed by the staff while my items were sitting on the checkout counter. Shame on the management for allowing their employees to be so rude and shame on the girls running the register for making guests in your store feel so unwelcome. My mom came in from out of state and bought a purse. This a was a couple months ago. She used the purse a couple weeks and the leather started to completely peel off. The purse still looked brand nwot just the huge patch of leather peeling off. She called and informed them and they advised next time she was in town they would handle it. She packaged it up and made it back down for the holidays. 1. The manager herself advised the girl at the front to handle it. That's the managers job to handle situations like this and she just sucked at her job period. Then when my mother was telling the girl at the counter what had happened the girl says "that's because you used it more than a couple weeks." Excuse me? You work in customer service. Don't accuse my mother of lying when you don't even know her. The purse was brand new besides the peeling leather. It should have never been put on the shelf to sell and should have been handle a lot better. Needless to say they have lost my whole families business. Neither of them deserve a pay check they suck at their job and hopefully the owner sees that before they lose even more business. Wouldn't shop here AT ALL! The manager of this location is incredibly rude and callous, she has made me feel uncomfortable several times by almost confronting me as if I were stealing things. One one occasion, a friend and I were looking at the makeup and my friend picked up a lipstick, almost immediately she was feet from us asking us how we were doing with a rude tone and angry expression. The most recent occasion was this weekend when I went to return some toddler clothing that were purchased as a gift but were too big, I did not have the receipt but the clothes were still on the original hanger with tags attached, when the associate asked for manager approval she walked up saying "well well well what do we have here" then proceeded to scour through the clothing trying to find some defect or reason to not return the items. Furthermore, she failed to greet me or even smile, I would enjoy shopping here/ would shop more frequently if I did not have to deal with this woman-I don't recommend because the overall experience for me has been poor, nearly every time...
