Ramsey County Emergency Communications — Local services in Saint Paul

I've usually had good experiences on the rare occasion of need. Unfortunately, the last one-which wasn't good-sticks with me. Wed, 6/5: My daughter called me from 5 hours away screaming that she was in her car and her boyfriend was bashing in her windshield. We got disconnected so I dialed 911 hoping I could get help sent from where I live in Ramsey County. I told her where the emergency was, and she said you have to call the county she's in. Pretty sure my daughter was being beaten to death during this time, I said, "oh my god!" as I scrambled to get out of bed and find a pen at 3am in the morning. I had no idea it worked that way.

The woman on the line got really aggressive, saying something along the lines of, "ma'am we can't help you-you've called Ramsey County and we don't service the area you are calling about!" I told her I get it-trying to find a pen while my daughter is probably hurt. She was like, "okaaaay." I got two numbers from her and handled it. My daughter survived.

First of all, I don't have a vast experience with 911-so maybe I was naive. But I was desperate and scared-and all she could do was get nasty and defensive. I honestly hope there wasn't a stressed and frightened or hurt person in Ramsey Cty that night that had to deal with her as well. I went through hell and back that entire day, and dealt with a lot of personnel within the counties down in Iowa, but that call to Ramsey County 911 still really resonates with me...

A truck was driving recklessly in my neighborhood tonight, Halloween Night)!!!! So I called RC dispatch. First the dispatcher asks what area..I tell her the streets and she said its in N St Paul? I say no..in wbl, then shes asks for my address and I tell her my address, says all my addresses are coming up in north st paul. I gave her 1 address! Then I told her a truck is driving recklessly in my neighborhood and I heard the truck over my tv because it's a loud diesel truck and kids are trick or treating! I was worried about the kids!!! I said it's either a white or gray truck because I saw them on my cameras before, they do this EVERYNIGHT! She intimidated and interrogated me by saying..what truck is it?? Which way was it going? Omg..what a disaster! I'm not calling in anymore calls. Someone else is gonna need to call these things in...I'm done! She stressed my...

I watched a crime take place near my house and watched a man flee on foot from the crime so I called 911 and reported it. I never called for EMS and they called me about 20 minutes ago and asked why I needed EMS. I said I never asked for EMS and they were super rude to me telling me not to call them. I have the call receipts showing I never contacted them and that they contacted me first…Police didn’t show up till 30 min. after this crime took place so they couldn’t catch the guy who came back to the crime scene 3x before they got here and then left again. St. Paul police is so shameful and such a waste...
