Starting somewhere new is always nerve-wrackingāyou never know how youāll be accepted. From the very first day I stepped onto the turf at Outdoor Group Fitness (OGF), I realized this was a gym like no other. Over the past two months of being a member, I have experienced nothing but encouragement, support, and motivation that has pushed me to levels I didnāt think were possible. On my first day, I met Coach Harley, who was so kind and welcoming, and Jolie, who helped me get settled before the session began. I was then paired with Coach Emily and Coach Chelsea during a core and conditioning workout, and both were incredibly supportive and uplifting throughout the entire session. In that moment, I knew I had found more than just a gymāI had found a family and a new home. What makes OGF stand out is the sense of community. Everyone is so kind, always cheering one another on, encouraging each other through tough workouts, and lifting each other up during some of the hardest physical challenges weāve ever faced. The atmosphere is positive, motivating, and genuinely welcoming. In just two months, Iāve met so many amazing peopleāboth coaches and fellow membersāwho I am grateful to have alongside me on my fitness journey and now in my life. The coaches are outstanding, the programming is challenging yet adaptable, and the support system is unmatched. I started on a Wednesday (Core & Conditioning day) with coaches Chelsea and Emily (who are absolute gems BTW ā as all the coaches are), and I remember how nervous I was just to call and book that first class let alone do a single burpee. But I was met with such warmth and encouragement, it really helped me push through that first step. For the past few years, I had been so focused on work and life that fitness kind of fell by the wayside. I didnāt feel like myself anymore and I knew it was time to make a change. I had followed OGF on Instagram for about a year before I finally decided to go for it. That first class was no joke, but the encouragement from the coaches and the constant high-fives and support from the OGF community made it clear this was the place for me. I signed up right away! Even though Iām just getting back into my fitness journey, I already feel stronger physically and mentally. Every coach Iāve worked with has been outstanding, and I truly canāt thank them enough for showing up every day with so much energy, positivity, and support. Also, the facility is incredibly clean and organized. Everything is always spotless and well set up. It makes a huge difference and shows how much pride they take in the space. The trainers at OGF start out as family as soon as you walk through the gate. Iād say door but you are literally working out outdoors! The trainers push you while focusing on form and technique throughout the workouts. Yes, you could workout on your own, but what is the fun in that when you could have a community of people cheering you on to get you to your next milestone! I personally found myself doing the same workouts over and over again and not progressing to the next level. I needed that extra push to add more weight and safely complete the exercise. I am a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and am always educating the importance of being physically active.
