Complaint Report About An Incident at The Ghetto Quality Inn & Suites at Tropicana Field Florida 1400 34th St N St. Petersburg, Florida 33713 United States Of America
In urging us not to give up in doing good because we will eventually be rewarded.
However, people often choose to give up and discard valuable things instead of giving them to those in need. This was exemplified in an incident at the Ghetto "Quality Inn and Suites Tropicana Field" Florida hotel on the morning of July 3rd, 2023.
Begin reading. Evening of July 2, 2023 A lady customer had placed a small pile of unwanted items near the trash can, intended for throw away. Trash can was full. A tall male staff worker informed the lady customer about another lady named Amy ( his sometime girlfriend) on the second floor, staying with her ex-father in-law, and that she had recently lost everything and might benefit from those items. The lady customer agreed to let Amy have them, they (Amy/others) started going through the small pile. To ensure that everything would be thrown away, now being taken away, the lady customer asked everyone present, including the tall male staff worker, for the items to be taken to the trash by them. Both Amy and the tall male staff worker agreed to dispose of them. However, the following day, the same tall male staff worker, sees the lady customer and asks her to throw away the items left by the trash, even though he had previously promised to handle it himself. The lady customer expressed astonishment at this request and reminded him of the previous conversation. Eventually, the tall male staff worker acknowledged his responsibility and agreed to take care of it. Later, when the lady customer returned to her room and requested no room service, she received an unexpected visit from the front desk. A short, thin lady, from the front desk accompanied by the tall male staff worker demanded access to the lady customer's room, when her husband answered . Confused and concerned, never seeing these people before, the lady customer's husband questioned their intentions to enter the room, and threatened to involve the police. So then the lady customer approached the door and confronted the short, thin front desk lady and the tall male staff worker asking why they needed to enter her paid room and inspect her personal belongings. The lady customer explained the previous evening's conversation and accused the tall male staff worker of lying, which had led to the false assumption that the lady customer had too much stuff. In an effort to prove her point, the lady customer opened the door wide, revealing that there was no excess amount of belongings. However, the short, thin lady from the front desk became angry and accused the lady customer of flipping her lip in disrespect. She threatened to call the police and asked them to leave. The lady customer followed the short, thin front desk lady to the lobby, attempting to explain her side of the story. However, her efforts were futile, and in the lobby, the lady customer began apologizing profusely, hoping to resolve the situation. Despite her apologies, the short, thin front desk lady refused to accept the lady customers apology. Eventually, the lady customer got on her knees on the front lobby floor and pleaded until the short, thin front desk lady relented and accepted her apology and allowed her to return to her room. Feeling upset and overwhelmed, back in her paid room, the lady customer cried at the unfair treatment she had experienced. She apologized in order to avoid the hassle of finding a rental car during a holiday weekend and another room elsewhere at this time, solely because of the unkind actions of these two individuals.
Sowing and reaping is a fundamental principle: what you sow, you will reap. Galatians 6:7-9 emphasizes this concept, urging us not to give up in doing good because we will eventually be rewarded. Amen.
😳 BEST ADVICE! DO NOT STAY AT...
Read moreHotel looked nothing like the pictures. Pictures are outdated. Room smelled so badly of bleach when we checked in that we had to leave for 4 hours so we could breathe in the room. Floors in the room were so dirty that we had to wear shoes all the time. Broken bed that we didn’t realize was broken and not an indent until night 5. Ceiling in bathroom leaked into the toilet in the middle of the night on our last night. No water pressure in shower or drain plug in tub. Bathroom sink smelled horrible like sewage when water was ran. No cold water at sink. Shower took forever to get warm water and then was too hot to stand in. Old furniture that was damaged at the bottom and disgusting inside the drawers. Old, discolored and rusted lamps with different color bulbs in them. Very few usable outlets. Gap in door. Stains all over curtains and chair in room. Guests smoking outside non smoking rooms and while in the pool. Pool was dirty. We had to check out at 4am to catch a flight home and the gentleman working couldn’t check us out due to no computer access so we had to call them back at 11am when we landed to ensure we were actually checked out. Employees were pushing carts back and forth outside rooms every morning we were there starting around 8am. Made it impossible to go back to sleep once woken up. Called ahead and asked about paying for room in cash and they said we could. Got there and was told no cash, but they allowed it this one time. Breakfast was barely a full hot breakfast as advertised. Only given 1 room key upon check in. Their site says they charge $6 for extra keys. Had to pay a $250 security deposit upon check in that was not listed anywhere on the hotel info when we booked 4 months prior. WiFi didn’t stay connected and barely worked. WiFi didn’t work at all in bathroom. No extra toilet paper or towels in room. We had to go to front desk for toilet paper our second day there. No working fan in bathroom so there was mold on the ceiling. 2 towel racks were not enough to hang bath towels and beach towels and other wet things. There used to be a hook on the door, but I guess it was removed. Had to ask for a do not disturb sign. Hotel common areas smelled like marijuana all the time. Couldn’t find hot tub in pictures, but we probably wouldn’t have used it anyway. It seemed like some guests live at this hotel. I know it’s cheap and the pictures look decent, but this hotel looks nothing like the pictures and we will definitely not ever...
Read moreI have stayed at many Choice Hotels over the years. I must say this one was the most challenging. The reason I selected this hotel was because the name includes “Tropicana Field”. This is very deceptive. After I retired at the end of 2012 one of my goals is to attend a game in every major league baseball park. Tropicana Field being the name of the stadium the Tampa Rays play. They are not even close to Tropicana Field. There is no shuttle to the game from your hotel, public transportation has no reasonable access to this hotel, that leaves taxi or drive my own car. I opted for the last choice and paid the $10 parking fee. When we arrived at this hotel, the young lady at the front desk was very professional and even recognized my Gold standing with Choice Hotels. The first impression of the room when we first entered was very positive. Then we walked into the bathroom area. The sink has a big crack down the middle, there is no stopper in the sink so if somebody drops something small, it can fall down the drain. The toilet looks like it was in a war zone. It was clean but very beat up. Later in the evening I wanted to make some coffee in the room. When I moved the coffee maker to the sink area I noticed it still had water in it. When I plugged it in, nothing happened. The next morning when I went down for breakfast I informed the front desk the coffee maker was not working. He said they would fix that. When I returned to the room, my wife noticed she had three flea bites on her legs. We left for the beach and assumed we would receive room service while we were gone. We returned from the beach and no room service. We went to take a shower and the water control only has two settings very hot or very cold. When you try to set it to warm the shower turns off. We went out again and stopped at the front desk and advised them about my wife’s flea bites and asked the sheets and bedspread (there was no blanket) be replaced on her bed. He said it would be taken care of. When we returned the second time, new sheets, blanket and bedspread had been changed on both beds and a new coffee maker was in place. Then the light in the bathroom went out. We called the desk and it was replaced quickly. I appreciate the offer for a free night from management if we plan to stay in St. Petersburg again. My future plans do not include this hotel in them. The staff is excellent, but the building is in need of some serious upgrading. I would not...
