I am sad to give this 2 star review because I have raved about this salon to many people. Today when I arrived, the techs told me the heater was broken so they had to use space heaters. It was 50 degrees in the salon and only got to 62 by the time I left after two hours! It is December in Utah, if your heater is broken, you should have more than three small space heaters or at the very least, show up before your clients to turn on the heaters. Better yet, if you canāt get the heater fixed, just cancel appointments until it is fixed.
My second complaint is that I specifically made an appt with Alana because of her awesome nail art skills. When I arrived I was told I was with someone else because āAlana was sick or doing whatever.ā The girl I was with did an okay job but was unable to give me the nails I had asked for. I ended up just telling her to do the plain pink because she couldnāt do what I was asking for. This is the very reason I booked specifically with Alana who would have been able to do it. I wish they would have told me ahead of time Alana would not be there so I could have rebooked at a time she was there. At least give me the option. The nails I got are sub par and I will probably have to fix the shape when I get home because they are so bad.
My last complaint is that my appt was for luminary nails AND a pedicure and was scheduled for 1 hour and 40 minutes. I was there for two hours, got nails I didnāt want and didnāt have time for the pedicure.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I may or may not reschedule with Alana at a different time, I am still deciding. It is a lot of money to pay to have to come home...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI dont usually write reviews. Honestly im mad at myself for even tipping because I felt bad for the girl! It was the worst experience! I remember why i quit coming here two years ago! I booked just a gel polish change and was there for AN HOUR! The girl had terrible technique it's like she learned how to do nails from her friend not a certified technician. I was here two weeks ago getting a pedicure (June 16th which also wasn't great bumpy and thick, but not terrible). I saw they had appointments this morning so I thought I'd just go get the polish changed and hope I didn't get the same technician(now i know why they have so many appointments available on a saturday when no other salon around here does). When she was sanding the old polish off she informed me that the last pedicure I had there the color polish didn't get cured enough so my nails might be stained (they in fact were). She kept hitting my toes with the light as she was putting it on. She acted like she'd never clipped or filed a toenail before. The equipment was dirty even the polish bottles! The top coat she used she literally had to tip upside down each toe to get any on the polish brush. The drill she used to file seemed like it was old or running out of battery. It was TERRIBLE. I won't be back ever again. Owners you either need to get some better technicians or do some more training as well as invest in some new product for them that doesnt look like it's filthy. Don't waste...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI spoke with a nail Tech, that works for lumi Nails. She has a f/b page and asked how much for a set of acrylics, French style manicure. She quoted me $50. I said that would be fine. I showed her a nail photo and she said oh yeah I can do that.. she said to me if I wanted the glitter on them and I said yes that would be ok.. So, I made the appointment with her and when I got there, I said I have an appointment with so and so and they said ok just take a seat. Then the same girl in the shop says, oh I will be doing your nails so just sit over here In another chair and I moved to her station.. I asked why isn't the girl that I spoke with doing my nails and the girl said she is still busy with another client. So, I said I guess that would be ok.. So as I was talking with this gal she asked me, so, what are we doing for you today? I said to her I spoke with this gal from f/b and we set it up to have French manicure and she said it would be $50. The gal said oh no she must have told you wrong.. we charge $60 I said no, she told me $50..well, I was upset with that. So, I said I won't do French manicure.. I just painted them.. The gal that did my nails was pretty good. There a bit on the wide side, could be much narrower and i told her to round the square edges, there still sharp edges..The test now is to see how long they hold up.. its disappointing telling me 50 and when you get there it's 60.. That's not...
