Recently, I attempted ordering countertops at the Salina store. The first time Isaias helped me. He told me at that time I would have to have a template, as it is recommended to ensure accuracy. We gave him measurements, and he was right. The countertop company rejected our initial measurements, and Isaias called me and let me know we would need to remeasure, and order the template. He drew up the order and asked me if I would like to pay over the phone. I didnât have my card with me and told him I would call back. I did call back, but it was much later and I spoke with a girl named Kat. I told her I needed to pay for my project that Isaias had drawn up which was the template, and she got me checked out over the phone. The total was $600 and some change with the sink included. I didnât know, nor was I told that I would just need to pay for the template. About two weeks later, I got an email stating that my actual countertops were in and I drove an hour to the store to speak to the department manager, as I knew, the countertops would not fit, and somehow the countertops got ordered, with no template ever sent out. Jeffrey, the department manager, attempted to help. I explained to him that Isaias had already told me that there would Need to be a custom drawing of the countertops using my measurements. Jeffrey plugged the numbers in and got the template ordered. The template came in about 12 days later, and the sink hole cutout wasnât in the right place. We ensured all the other measurements were good, and marked on the template where the sink was to be cut out. Isaias again helped us, ordered up the countertops, and we waited. That was trip number two driving an hour each way to the store. The countertop finally arrives last weekend and they were perfectly measured and cut. The problem now is that one end of the countertop had a 1 inch lip on the underside, and the other end had a 4 inch lip which kept the countertop from sitting flush on my cabinets. My contractor said he could possibly cut some of the lip out, but couldnt guarantee that the countertop wouldnât chip. Our template also did not show where the lips would be or how wide they would be which would have been helpful. today I returned to the store to ask for a refund. At this point, I have driven a mile each way back-and-forth to Salina three times, and inconvenienced not only myself, but my contractor who has scheduled out his time for countertop installation. When I arrive, the manager, Jeffrey was in the department. I explained what the problem is with the countertop and he seemed aggravated. He asked me why we couldnât just cut the lip ourselves to fit over the countertop. I explained my contractors apprehension of cutting into a countertop, and Jeffrey just walked away stating Iâll have to get this approved by the store manager. Jeffrey returns right away, and says Iâll take you up front for the return. Jeffrey disappears. Unlike the other times I went to the store, and he walked with me up to the front to pay. Weird how the manager is when youâre giving money away, but it changes quickly when your order has been systematically flawed from the jump and you need your money back. I find this manager Jeffrey to be very arrogant with a know- it-all attitude and as long as things are going well with a sale, he is nice. Funny, even the customer service clerk had the same observations and opinions as I did, and shared them with me. The problem now is that I still have more home improvements to do, but unfortunately, I will be giving my business to Loweâs. You never forget how you are treated, and with the price of remodeling materials, youâre gonna give your money to the ones who treat you right. I also put in over $700 worth of flooring, more for lighting, faucets, and a sink from Menards. Sad thing is, I now have a gorgeous floor and beautiful lighting, but am still stuck with my old countertop that I was sure would be replaced at the same time. Very disappointing and aggravating to say the very least. Do...
Read moreI can only provide a three-star review for this location at Menards. But let me start off by saying the most helpful employee. Today was a young man at the cashier station. He was on register number 9. His name was Thomas. He was very helpful. Directed me exactly where I needed to go, knew exactly what I needed and got me right out.... Now on to the lumber department where they said they don't do cutting which they do in Manhattan but they don't do here but they said the guy would do it for me because I'm disabled and I got out there and he said that he couldn't do it the way I was asking so I had to do it myself being disabled taking a rest because I was already all the way out and he just kind of looked at me like how did he do that. Well you might want to go back to training. Another problem I have Menards is that there are items all over the store. So for example, screws anchors, nuts, bolts are in six different places. You can find plumbing items in six different places. So basically if you're looking for a specific item you have to go all over the store to try to find it. Their app does not operate like a lot of other stores where you can put what you're looking for and it'll tell you which hour to go to that does not happen. So I spent a lot of my time wandering the store trying to find what I was looking for until I ran into Thomas who was nice enough to get me some assistance and get me in the right direction. I would suggest they update their app so that you can look for specific items and find out which job they're on and try to condense things so that you're not wandering all over the store so that you have to pass things that they have on a whopping 11% rebate. It's just a way to get you to go...
Read moreOn 2/20/ 21 at 1:30 pm looking to purchase a new clothes dryer. Waited for help and asked a worker if she could summon a salesman. She finally came back and said she could help me. My wife and I picked out the one we wanted to purchase. The lady got on the computer and advised me there were 7 in stock. I said fine we will take one. She filled out the sale and I told her we would pick it up the next morning. Arrived at load out , a Male took our sales recipe and added it would be 10 or 15 minutes. Was told they were out of the dryer. I explained when I bought it there were 7 in stock, he then stated he had sold 6 of them last week. I said show me the records. He then kinda looked down and turned to doing something else. I asked about the floor display and was told by another person that it was gone from the display. I then asked where the complaint department was, then walked by the display and the dryer was still there. Was lied to and asked if I could get the display unit and ended up getting the display model. Very disappointing to have employee's lie and won't try to resolve this. I don't feel that it would do any good to talk to Management as well. LAST time we will shop there and would rather spend more for better service and honesty in employees. If there was a negative star I would have posted it. Sorry for my rant, but if they continue to treat customers like we...
