Went in on Sunday with chest pains. They brought me straight to the back probably the only thing that was okay about this visit . When Dr. E Barkanic came in she asked what my symptoms were. I started explaining and she was smirking at me while she spoke. Right then and there I lost RESPECT for her as a supposed doctor. How dare you smirk in the face of a patient thats in need of your help. Disrespectful. Yall made me feel very uncomfortable. Half the nurses were decent but some looked pissed off like I was a burden for coming in , had a look on there face like I was waisting there time. As soon as they did and ekg and chest xray which I told them i already had done 2 months prior and I told them my tests all came back fine she still insisted on running the same tests. Makes no sense. She could of ordered a ct scan or checked components in my stomach area but no ordered the same exact tests i already had. Probably just to rack up my bill . After the results came back fine they put me in a hallway and just left me there. All they did was give me an aspirin . I even unplugged some wires from the machine to see if someone would even come and check on me. NOPE not a single nurse or even barkanic . The nicest person there was the woman who did my chest xray and the man who got me checked out to leave. So sad and pathetic. People rely on yall to help them. We put faith in yall and practically our lives in your hands and for what to be treated like that? I couldnt believe it. Your supposed to be standing in the role as heroes. It's such a shame I will never ever go back there. As the days passed more serious symptoms started to occur so I decided to go to concho valley er on sherwood way this time . Please If your in need of help please go to CONCHO VALLEY ER ON SHERWOOD WAY NEAR SAMS CLUB. It is the best quality of service you will receive anywhere in san angelo tx. I had to go over there today and they treated me with the upmost respect and actually cared for me properly and wanted to really try and find out what was wrong. They gave me fluids ran multiple test the doctor himself came in physically checked me ,my abdominal gave me stuff for my nasea and pain etc did a ct scan and checked everything i mean everything and even gave me prescriptions for antibiotics just incase there was a possibility there was something they didn't see that's there just to make sure. Incredible service. Please read this review people it will really make a big difference on where you decide to go for future assistance. Listen doctors and nurses If your true intention isn't to help people to the fullest then maybe you need to rethink your position. We have enough problems in the world. No reason to have another one by not even being able to have faith in the people whose hands your in when sick. Thankyou for nothing shannon medical on 120 E harris ave for a $7,000 medical bill just to feel uncomfortable and unwanted in your emergency room. One day yall will either be bought out by another company or shut down from the lack of service...
Read moreMy issue is not only with this so-called hospital, you know, the place you go in a medical emergency, where you are supposed to be able to have a physician help you. My issue is with how Texas is currently running their health care system, and how it appears to require too much effort for a physician to review someone's medical records, have a conversation with their treating physician, and simply do a professional courtesy for a provider in another state. I came to Texas to work on a political campaign, and got stranded here because the organization is basically some type of scam outfit. I thought I would have an opportunity to make money, and possibly make a difference. Every local resource I tried for help with running out if my medication, would rather see someone off their medication, while also dealing with the overwhelming crisis of being stranded in another state, far from home, than to do anything to help. I have a prescription sitting at the pharmacy for the medication I am prescribed and learned, but my doctor is out of state. I'm so sorry, you are out of luck because we can't fill it. I encountered exactly the same reaction when calling local resources here, explaining the situation and asking if they can help me get back home. The most uncaring, unsympathetic, and self-absorbed folks I have encountered. This is not the same Texas from when I lived here before. I have never been to San Angelo or this area, but I spent months in places like Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, El Paso,San Antonio, and Austin. It's probably a symptom of the problems Texas has faced with the current border crisis. Still it's sad to see doctors who flat out don't care, churches who don't even want to listen, and non profits who have no resources for anything, and certainly not someone from out of state. If I had broken the law to get to Texas, instead of coming here to work and talk to voters, I would have been handed a preloaded debit card, and given transportation to different Sanctuary cities, where I would be given housing- rent free, free healthcare, and food, and I wouldn't even have to get a job. That's how it goes when the United States puts everyone in the world first, and Americans last....
Read moreThe triage process is completely backwards here (if there is a process). Do you self a favor & go to urgent care 1st at least you will see a medical professional faster not just a tech. The er nurse will check you in ask for your name & dob & what your complaint is then they will send you to get “triaged" although nobody does a triage assessment the tech will just take your vitals.
My Mother went to ER for high blood pressures that she took at home systolic elevated & diastolic over 100, she not taking anything for high BP, however Is on a cholesterol med which I told the nurse upfront in addition of having familial hx of strokes. My Mom was feeling nauseated & had headache since the am, she is not the one to just go the ER. I knew she was not feeling well & took her. I had her sit down while I gave the nurse her info. & reason for visit.
Waited over 2 hrs….watching others ie knee pain go back. No concern & mind you the nurse did not actually lay eyes, ears, or do an assessment at all. I now feel terrible thinking about time wasted but I’m not in the business of telling people how to do their jobs.
Left after 2 hours to urgent care where she was in immediately brought back after having her blood pressure taken, where they also did an EKG & a nurse properly assessed my Mom. She was started on blood pressure medication & sent home to rest. All was done in 40 mins.
Both my husband & I are in the medical field as a fellow nurse & nurse practitioner. With ER & Critical care experience. I understand acuity levels & rooms being full. In these cases a follow up BP check can be done & checking up on the patient. Instead, completely unprofessional er staff banging on triage doors laughing & joking. So it wasn’t because triage was too busy.
Just moved back to town & thoroughly unimpressed & disappointed however thankfully my Mother was taken care of. I am happy & grateful for the prompt care she received at the urgent...
