Shannon West Texas Memorial Hospital — Local services in San Angelo

We had a really bad experience this past Friday My daughter's water broke and she was taken to Shannon's children and women's unit By the time my wife and I arrived there was talk that my grandaughter that was coming may have a heart issue and who was coming a month early. They then were looking to transfer us to another hospital They cancelled flights 3 or 4 times during the night My wife and son in law then were told we were going to Austin So they took off to meet them there. When she was about halfway to Austin they had cancelled for 3rd time They then told me to tell my wife to come back to Shannon. Before she got back they were like an ambulance from Austin is on the way. couldn't believe what was going on. She rested for 3 hours and took off again to Austin; where we received excellent care unlike Shannon just trying to blow us off to another hospital. Needless to say my grandaughter was born a premie on Saturday We found out there was no heart problem But she will be in NICU for approximately a month. So after a lot of expense we will hopefully bring her home. No thanks to Shannon hospital though The hospital care in this city of San Angelo is really doing no good for anyone. It's a shame that Scott and white haven't built here as of yet but I heard they've purchased land to build. But I will never trust Shannon health care again. I'm done with you. This hospital does not care about their patients , there’s about 15 patients in the waiting room( along with my mother) just waiting for treatment , it’s so full there sticking patients in another room to wait, my mother is in a wheelchair unable to walk, she has not eaten in 5 days , she can not see out of her eye, she has had a horrible migraine for a week ,she has been sitting in this hallway next to a man coughing up blood and a man who is groining in pain because he has not been seen, there is a frail elderly woman who has been sitting in a WHEELCHAIR. Not a regular chair. Just a flimsy wheelchair , the woman asked the nurses if she could have a regular chair or a bed and they just her to wait. She said “please I am on my deathbed, I would like consideration” I am no where near a doctor or a nurse , I have no experience in the medical felid but I know this is not how you treat human beings waiting to be treated. Ask if they want water or a snack. Or maybe atleast one nurse could show even the slightest bit of remorse for a paitent. Shannon hospital...

My roommate woke up with a sharp pain on her right side thinking it was her appendix or gallbladder so we took her to Shannon (thinking it was going to be a good place to take her) once we got to the ER we waited 2 HOURS just to get a room in the back, once we got to her room there were bugs crawling on her BED and on the floor, the nurse that was taking my roommates blood dropped the syringe on the floor before taking her blood and used THE SAME NEEDLE. She now has rashes and bruises all over her arms. We arrived at the hospital at 10:30pm and left at 6:30am. All that to say the care she was given was terrible and all the nurses were rude.
