Update.. Folks don’t do it!!! Originally signed a 12 month lease but we’re told we signed a 10 month lease. I told him that makes no sense and that I would never sign a 10 months lease. So today by chance we ran into tenants from the Can Plant. They told us the same thing happened to them. They signed a 12 month lease, but they were told that they didn’t. They said that the assistant manager is shady. 🤔This may be a good story for the local news stations. The one star is for the staff. The minus 4 is for corporate. In response to Embrey’s reply.. If you value transparency then why weren’t you transparent about all the construction, the renovations and the ridiculous rent increases in which displaced many people to included seniors with health issues? I wrote a review about four months ago when we left the Can Plant. I took it down for the staff as we felt bad for them. But while out to dinner, my wife and I were talking about how much we enjoy our new location. During the conversation she had mentioned how much we and many others got screwed. They didn’t tell us anything about renovations when we moved in. So the whole time we were there, there was nothing but noise above us below us and on both sides of us. Not to mention the-mess left behind by the contractors. Also, the clubhouse was closed for 3 to 4 months while we were there. And the intercom system to let people in didn’t work for six months. We of course, also had to deal with the building of the Pullman market behind us. But we knew about that. That was an additional three months of outside noise. We all ready decided we were not going to renew our lease but when they offered us to stay, they increased the rent by 700.00. We actually laughed seeing that our decision was made. The average rent increase is about 5 to 10% maximum. (Maybe) Not 50+ percent. I don’t blame the folks in the office as this is all corporate making these decisions along with the owner of the property. They also did the same thing at Tin Top flats. They dangle the carrot got people in there for 1800 and above. When it came time to renew the lease, it went up 6/700. I will also note in which we missed while touring the property, that there are no restrooms at the pool. Which is terrible if you have friends over to bbq etc. It’s a long walk back to the clubhouse. 100 yards at least. There was also a few older women that lived there for seven or so years and their rent went up seven to $800. There is no loyalty. Especially for people that have actually stayed there for that long. So my suggestion is that anything that Embrey management is involved with??? Stay away!!! Oh and they took $48 out of my deposit for pet cleaning. We had a cat. Apparently they do this. It’s part of the deal even though our apartment was immaculate. So $200 nonrefundable pet deposit and 20.00 a month or 400. No damage but they take $48 more. They literally got $400 for nothing. But that wasn’t enough. Hate the nickel and dime mentality. It’s all a money grab. The aforementioned is the main reason In which we decided to leave. That being said the Pearl is a nice place to visit but living there wasn’t all that. We weren’t into the thousands of people going through there on the weekend, the overrated restaurants and truth be told living in a bubble. We prefer more of a neighborhood vibe. I will note that there are new apartments going up behind the hotel, that will be more affordable housing In which they work with some based on their income. I’m sorry that I had to write this but the greed and blatant disrespect in which they have shown to dozens that have had to relocate is unacceptable and shouldn’t be ignored. Now the Can Plant and Tin Top flats have the most vacancies in the neighborhood. And deservedly so. It couldn’t happen to a better company. Embrey😉 Oh and as for the renovations??? My neighbor showed me her new unit. Still had the old outdated stove and the old bathtub. She said it’s her last renewal. The Can Plant is going on 15 years old. Perhaps the oldest in the area. So there are a lot of issues.

Great place to live with so many places to explore nearby, I really appreciate all of Jaselyn’s awesome help! EDIT: Noise in my apartment from upper stairs tenant and the air conditioning units outside the windows, has made sleeping hell. I would also expect amenities that worked, also theres always construction. EDIT: Fire happened in the apartment building and it was the unit above mine and sprinklers went off, suffice it to say my unit was hit with a downpour. Water was coming out of every lighting fixture from the ceiling, leaving it uninhabitable, but they will not prorate the rent, so still have to pay rent for a place I cant live, this included machines to deal with the water damage making it 110 inside, and guess whos CPS account is getting charged, thats right the mine, and they keep putting the AC on.. I talked to the manager, Lacey and she said im still inhabiting it with my possessions, but im unable to move them because of the machines. The one thing they did was let me out of my lease because they know they cant fix it in the required amount of time by Texas law. Do not rent here, rent down the street for $500 a month less. Also they offered people gift cards for their reviews, so definitely some biased reviews here.

I have a concern that these security guards are purposely impersonating San Antonio police officers who ride bicycles in downtown. Their uniforms are almost identical as well as their bicycles and helmets, accessories and all. They know this too and they use this as an intimidation technique. They need to stick to doing their job duties. This one stood across the street and stared at me for close to an hour while a friend of mine and neighbor had decorations stolen from her patio on the other end of the community. Perhaps he could have stopped this from happening had his presence been made throughout the community rather than staring at me, a resident for almost an hour. From 5:00am to 5:44am he's still staring. I'm trying to see how long he will stand there staring at me but I have more important things to do... Sad to say apparently he doesn't feel he has better things to do. Money well spent Pearl Park Management. I will be filing a complaint with the proper department regarding the obviously purposely done likeness of your security guards uniforms to that of our SAPD Bicycle Officers. I do believe this is a violation of laws and or regulations in place.

We have been here just 5 days. It’s always been a goal of mine to live at the Pearl growing up here & witnessing it transform to what it is today. It always been my favorite spot in sa. Pearl at the Pearl lol. I couldn’t express how excited I was to finally have that little dream come true when we got orders back here, unfortunately I’m so disappointed to have to write this review. We are a military family and have lived all over the United States- hence having lived in numerous places. Never have we felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable by staff until we moved here. Not all the staff, just Stephanie. We arrived having drove straight from California to here for our move in tired, exhausted, yet excited. From the moment we met our agent Stephanie there was no smile, professionalism, or politeness of any sort. We seemed as a burden to her. Nothing was ready for our move in, she said we came at the wrong time as they were setting up for a community event, although I let them know when we would arrive. Despite that, a new tenant moving in should be a priority as they’re other staff to attended to the event. She said come another day for a tour, mail keys, welcome gift etc. So we did. On that day we walked in, she never greeted us , didn’t even look at us as we went to her desk then finally we got a “yeah?”. Although we had arranged a few hours prior for this with her via email. She was upset to have to show us around, we should know where everything is in our new home pool, gym, mailroom etc. If she did not want to or was physically not able to she should have set us up with someone who would. The whole tour was so uncomfortable, akward and unpleasant. Her first words to us were “it said you already had a tour”, with an attitude. No we have never or we wouldn’t be wanting one. And we came from out of state So sort of impossible. Most simple questions we asked she said we need to ask the manager or she didn’t know. Then didn’t really speak with us. I even asked how can Amazon get into the building when they are not in office or I am not home, she didn’t know, she just sarcastically stated she doesn’t work for Amazon numerous times. Well duh.lol. (So today I had to push my baby in his high chair middle of diner to the lobby to let Amazon in. Which broke off a wheel from his chair. All because she didn’t know!). At the end of tour she still didn’t have mail keys & said it was our fault as they expected us Friday Vs Thursday. This tour was Saturday and she still had nothing for us no mail keys no welcome gift/packet, so Friday wouldn’t have made a difference. I wish we worked with any of the other staff members as on the phone they seemed so much more friendly and professional especially Jaylen. I hope the manager makes up for what she lacked. Perhaps train her to be more welcoming and polite. I wish we had walked in to a cute welcome gift on the counter as most places do and a happy smiling leasing agent. I’m really sad and disappointed of how she made us feel. I would not recommend this place just based on that experience with that staff member. There are other beautiful properties right next to this one with hopefully happier staff. Will update if anything changes.

Update: I meet with Joise the manager of the can Plant and she definitely made up for our horrible initial experience with Stephanie. Joise was Kind, understanding, and professional and so sweet! She even mentioned being pregnant is no excuse to complain of giving tours or having a horrible attitude as Stephanie was exhibiting. I recommend this place but definitely ask for anyone else except Stephanie- as they are all so sweet and really know their way around the Can Plant!...

I wish i could give these apartments 5 stars… but it’s really been nothing of that. I moved in during the summer, and I can’t wait for my lease to be up. These are some of the things that I’ve experienced here so far…

Pros: -location of course. So convenient and nice. -gym is usually really clean. -Jalen from the leasing office has been great -parking garage is very convenient -they just renovated the pool area with a nice patio area.

Cons: -my specific unit is very outdated. The floors are pretty gross because they are very worn. I wish i was able to see my exact unit before hand. Thankfully i do believe they are renovating all units. -first week i moved in, i called the emergency maintenance number multiple times because my a/c was out all night. Nobody answered until the morning. We were stuck sleeping in 85 degrees for the night. -elevators constantly needing to be fixed -constant A/C issues, with maintenance only doing temporary fixes until my a/c was going out consistently, they finally fixed the issue. maintenance saying that they went to my apartment to fix the a/c, but instead they went into another apartment mistaking it as mine, and i was left with a very hot apartment. Claimed that the apartment they went to was empty, but if it was empty, why would somebody be putting a maintenance request? Seems like they were just covering up for the mistake they made of going into the wrong apartment. pipes always bursting in main building so there has been times where we are out of water for a whole day/hours. my downstairs neighbor keeps complaining because “i walk too loud”.
