Extremely disappointed in our first time visit here. Met up with friends to celebrate graduating with our doctorates. We walked over after dinner at Supper at Hotel Emma where a few in our group had a few glasses of wine. We had a DD and also a pregnant woman in our group. After sitting down the waiter, Kevin, checked our IDs and then left the table without asking for our order or providing any insight on the wine offerings for the table. Instead, we were awkwardly approached again and were told that we had clearly been drinking before and they did not feel comfortable serving us any bottles of wine. No one in our group was acting belligerent or inappropriately. It was incredibly rude. We brought this to the attention of the staff on our way out and were told that they felt it was the appropriate call due to two people in our group stumbling - one of which was 8 months pregnant and had ordered a non-alcoholic beverage. A complete lie.
It is a shame that a poor judgement call was made before we were even able to give this place a chance. I have never received such terrible service.
The waiter, Kevin, needs to be taught on how to read customers and approach them in the appropriate manner if there is a serious concern for excessive alcohol...

I wanted to sample wine and buy a bottle whole sale when I visited the farmers' market. It felt like an interogation when I walked into this place and staff spoke to me without a hello or "Howdy" then hovered over me without being helpful and told me I had to look online. I was by myself, nobody with me, so maybe my expectations were to be treated like a perfect stranger and welcomed with wine. Lately, COVID has made going places difficult, especially restaurants and wine bars, which may have contributed to my poor experience and quick exit, so I didn't actually order anything, just disappointed with not being treated well, much less welcomed when I walked in. P.S. Saw some comments where people misspelled sommelier; and as an amateur oenophile I must say I was not impressed with the high markup, nor quality of the š· selection, so if you don't mind paying for overpriced wine and want to support a place in the Pearl, this...
