Usually, I love this place. But the customer service is down trending big time. I almost asked for a manager today, but honestly, if you allow your employees to act like that, it makes me believe you wouldn't care. I had placed an order for curbside pickup- which is already difficult as it is basically impeding traffic to wait for your food in the car outside the food hall- but they never came. After 35 minutes, I figured they were busy and went inside and saw my food sitting there- shockingly, there was NO line. The employees were just standing there talking. I went to the front and said I had an order for (my name) and they said "It's over there." I proceeded to tell them it was curbside, "YEAH, its over there."- no apology for the curbside order they never planned to actually bring curbside or anything. And they were short with an attitude about it when I mentioned it was curbside. Right as I'm about to leave with my order, I tell them my food is leaking. LOL this makes me laugh because the employee proceeds to argue "NO, IT'S NOT." Honestly, you're going to argue without looking. So, I show it to her- "Oh, ok.", is all she says. She replaces it after another 15 minutes of waiting and I ask her if I can get a bag because it's the food, utensils, salsa, and I don't want to have to hold it on my lap on the drive home. She says nothing, and gives me the bag. She won't even package it for me. I've worked in a restaurant; it paid my way through college, and I absolutely never had the huevos to act like that with anyone. I normally would give the benefit of the doubt, the way I did when I figured they were too busy to bring me my food (and they were not) and think "maybe she's having a bad day?" but it wasn't just her, it was the other male employee as well. Maybe I'm old fashioned for believing employers actually held employees accountable back then and don't now because these people behind the counter were too comfortable and too brave to not bring someone their food in a timely manner and argue with a customer. If you're not going to bring the food curbside, don't offer it. You lost my business today. Hold your employees to a...

Chilaquil: A Celebration of Chilaquiles in San Antonio

Calling all chilaquiles connoisseurs! San Antonio's Chilaquil is a haven dedicated to this beloved Mexican breakfast dish, and let me tell you, it's a revelation.

Drenched in Perfection: Forget the soggy, flavorless chilaquiles you've encountered elsewhere. Here, the star of the show is perfectly executed. Tortilla chips are bathed in a symphony of salsas – choose from tangy verde, smoky chipotle, or a fiery roja – resulting in a delightful textural contrast between crisp and yielding.

A Fiesta of Flavor: The salsa is just the beginning. Each plate is a fiesta of flavor. Your chilaquiles can be adorned with a variety of delicious toppings, from the classic queso fresco and crema to slow-cooked barbacoa or tender shredded chicken. Guacamole adds a vibrant creaminess, while pickled red onions deliver a delightful burst of acidity.

Beyond the Traditional: While Chilaquil honors the tradition of this Mexican staple, they also offer innovative twists. The "Chilaquiles of the Day" feature creative flavor combinations that will tantalize your taste buds. Think chipotle shrimp with a creamy avocado salsa or a vegetarian delight with roasted poblano peppers and huitlacoche (corn smut).

Something for Everyone: Don't worry if chilaquiles aren't your thing. The menu offers a variety of other Mexican breakfast favorites like breakfast tacos, molletes (open-faced toasted bolillo bread with beans and cheese), and tempting pastries.

A Feast for the Eyes: The presentation is as delightful as the taste. Vibrant plates adorned with colorful ingredients make every dish a feast for the eyes. The casual yet stylish atmosphere at the Bottling Department Food Hall adds to the overall experience.

A Must-Try for Foodies: Foodies seeking a unique and delicious breakfast experience won't be disappointed at Chilaquil. The perfect combination of classic flavors, innovative options, and delightful presentation creates a truly memorable meal. So grab your appetite and head to Chilaquil – your taste buds...

I tend to order in a lot since I work nights and work a lot. I started scrolling through my food apps and I came across Chilaquil. I am a huge fan of chliaquiles in general so I figured let’s try it out. The menu looked amazing so I was sold. I tend to order more than I can eat so I can try a bit of everything and share with whoever is working with me that night. So I put in my order, my coworker added hers and we got back to work. We received a notification that one of our orders couldn’t be completed so we had to order a different item. Within the minute of receiving the notification I get a call from the restaurant and they explained what they were out of and what our options were. Great communication. Our food came quickly which was even better. I got the chilaquil bowl as well as chips, guacamole, and queso. My coworker got tacos. Everything tasted great. The chips were nice and crispy, the guacamole was plentiful, which I loved, and the queso was not your typical runny queso. It was good. I wish the salsa verde was a bit spicier but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. Did I mention the gorgeous packaging? I wanted to keep the box it was so cute. I will be ordering again to try the...

Great lunch! Chilaquil is conveniently located in the food hall at Pearl, which wasn't too busy for me at lunchtime on a Tuesday. I ordered the chilachicken tacos on blue corn tortillas, which were a great Tex Mex choice. The chicken is fall-apart tender, and I loved the slather of black beans. Everything tasted very fresh. The blue corn tortillas were soft and flavorful. The reddish salsa was fine but the green was thick and lacked flavor. I didn't think they were spicy at all, but some other reviewers on here disagree. The chips seem to be house made and were nice and crispy. I also had a wonderful strawberry horchata to wash everything down with.
