So. Where do I start?!... I was a delivery driver for Spark. My account was wrongfully deactivated. I serviced a customer per my contract and followed ALL the guidelines.
I delivered an order to a customer, who was outside waiting for me. The customer gave me the name on the order without me asking for it, and the ID matched the name on the order form. The driver has to scan the ID and wait for the clearance in order to release the order to the customer. Both of which I did. After the ID cleared the groceries were placed in a basket that the customer brought out. When I left the customer, I then chatted with Spark Chat to let them know what happened with that order in case someone called because the ID was a woman and the customer appeared as a man. Due to laws and regulations regarding discrimination and pronouns I did not say anything about it to the customer. Instead I thought I was doing the right thing by alerting the company I'm contracted with. The customer could have been in the house that matched the ID, sick, anything and sent someone else. Or they could have been a victim of Identity theft. It was not for me to call or judge but to inform Spark. As a result of me believing I was doing the right thing, I was then removed from the platform.
If doing the right thing can get me removed from the app with no warning, placed in a financial hardship, with my metrics being in good standing is obsurd. To have to wait 7-10 business days for doing the right thing and going through an appeal for doing something right really should be looked at. I'm not Spark or the Walmart police, yet I saw a potential problem and spoke up.
I'm homeless and Spark had afforded me the opportunity to stay in a hotel instead of living in my car. I wish I had not said anything now and just let your company figure things out because apparently no one more.
I could give a bunch of helpful insight as an independent contractor to Spark, starting with deleting people from the app with no resolution and wondering what happened is unethical and unfair. I spoke up and the next morning I'm kicked off left begging someone to tell me what happened only to be told it will take 7-10 business days. I don't have that kind of time to wait, get kicked out of the hotel cause now I can't pay, when I did nothing wrong. All this took place August 3, 2023. Its now August 29, 2023 and Spark nor walmart has followed up with me regarding my account. When you call, the customer service reps have no one to transfer you to to follow up on the appeal and that in itself is frustrating.
This is just one email of 3 that I have sent to Wal-Mart headquarters and still no reply or answer. Here is my review. It takes humans to help build a business. Without customers and employees there would be no walmart. At this rate, they will fold just as fast as they started. The mission and the culture should be with the people that help make the company what it is today. Not the other way around. I should have not had to leave a review of this magnitude just to feel heard or that my voice matters. I'm validating every Spark driver that was deactivated a d their account was never properly reviewed or received an answer.
How could this have...

I came to see the the walmart stores in stockton california only have 1 delivery driver's and the mgrs that can't take control and do delivery's, this is how you are treated at the stores there at a store you can stand in aile for 30 to 35 minutes and so many people pass you ask you "need help" then they just forget you, like they never talked to you so I get the ladder myself get what I need and not one person said a word and yes they seen me and still no help even when I did 2 weeks ago with my broken arm. There are so many people walking around doing nothing, mgrs walking around like they are...
Read moreThis review is for the mountain view Walmart... I'm handicap. I have multiple sclerosis and for me, walking is very difficult... When I walked into the store pushing a Cart, I asked the woman at the door if there were any electronic scooters for handicap...she said she didn't speak English. I then asked three other people, two didn't know and one person said that there was only two scooters and one was broken... So frustrated and tired already, I started shopping. About half way thru I started getting really weak and tired and I asked a worker if she could see if the scooter was available, she went and came back about five minutes later and said "your gonna have to sit and wait or leave and come back another time." I was amazed at how cold and bluntly annoyed she was... I finished shopping and spent $360 on items for my new home... I feel like I waisted my husbands hard earned money on a store that made me feel defeated and degraded. I truly felt embarrassed because of how badly I needed these items but could barely stand to pay for them... And no one felt any empathy at this store. I will never go back and this probably won't get a second look, but I feel bad because this is disgusting how such a wholesome seeming store can treat disabled people like this. They didn't even have a wheelchair available. Very anti handicap store....
