Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing the innovative concept of Local Kitchens at the Bayhill Shopping Center in San Bruno. This micro food hall seamlessly brings together six local eateries under one roof, all orchestrated from a single kitchen. The lineup includes Square Pie Guys, Nopalito, Proposition Chicken, Sushirrito, The Melt, and Boba Guys.
From the moment I stepped inside, the cleanliness of Local Kitchens caught my eye. The well-maintained and spotless surroundings added an extra layer of comfort to the dining experience. It's evident that the establishment places a high priority on maintaining a hygienic and inviting environment. In addition, there is a nice outdoor patio providing a perfect retreat for those who prefer to savor their meals in the fresh air.
Moreover, the staff at Local Kitchens deserves accolades for their friendliness and helpfulness. As a first-time visitor, they patiently guided me through the ordering process on the kiosks, explaining the seamless system in place. Their warm demeanor and willingness to assist contributed to a positive and stress-free dining experience.
During my visit, I sampled the pizza from Square Pie Guys, a fried chicken sandwich from Proposition Chicken, Boba tea from Boba Guys, and a salmon hand roll from Sushirrito. The pizza boasted a perfect balance of crust, sauce, and toppings, while the fried chicken sandwich was a flavorful delight. The Boba tea was refreshing, and the salmon hand roll showcased the quality of ingredients used. Each dish was not only a testament to the culinary expertise of the shared kitchen but also a reflection of the commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
While every dish left a positive impression, the sushi roll from Sushirrito was my least favorite. However, it's important to note that as with any grand opening, there may be some growing pains, especially when a single kitchen is producing such a wide variety of cuisines.
It's encouraging to witness a new addition like Local Kitchens in the community, offering a convenient and diverse culinary experience. As patrons, let's acknowledge the inevitable challenges that come with a grand opening and provide constructive feedback to aid in their learning and growth. I, for one, look forward to seeing how Local Kitchens evolves and contributes to the flourishing food scene in the neighborhood. Give them a try, and let's collectively support this...

Read moreSo my friends and I decided to give this place a shot on Wed Jan 29th, I guess after their soft opening. Ordered online and we got there after the time frame stated. My friends order was ready while mine on the other hand said still cooking for unspecified amount of time on the pickup board and on the website. Website literally said 1 min till ready then still cooking. Well the still cooking was about another 40 mins. So it was a 30 min wait originally, so from ordering to getting my food was over an hour. It turns out they packed everything except the half proposition chicken so everything else was cold, even the chicken wasn't hot as it should have been. No body to expedite orders in the kitchen, to many staff standing around doing nothing. There were enough staff to go around and check on orders but instead left customers to wait with no explanation except sorry. The burger was so so, fries not worth it. Mexican was bland as heck, avoid even Taco Bell is better. Burrito was tiny. It's a nice concept if they can figure it out. Dunno if I'll go back food...
