If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I am not one to write reviews unless I feel very strongly about situations. I lived here for 13 months and personally, don't understand how this complex is still in business. The apartment units are spacious and the location is great for Little Italy but what became frustrating for the amount we were paying in rent is the following:
Utilities: The cost ranged from $100-$350/month. You really never knew what you were going to get because we had to pay for water, trash, electric which was out of our control. I understood the more we run AC the higher the electric bill would be BUT why am I paying higher trash rates for everyone's trash??
Customer Service: On move in day we walked into our new apartment and the entire places was absolutely flooded. The brown water was coming from the bathroom ceiling which ultimately flooded our bathroom destroying our cabinets AND our entire bedroom and half of our living room. We called for emergency maintenance and couldn't move in for 3 days. When I reported this to the leasing office they were not apologetic and when this happened AGAIN 3 months later, they found no documentation from the previous time.
For some reason, we were unable to pay rent online, so I delivered a check to the leasing office every month. I get a call in August asking why I didn't pay April's rent. I showed them documentation from my check book that the check had been given to them. They lost the check and it was never processed so I had to write another check for their accident.
Security: We had to stop ordering packages because if you don't pick up your package downstairs within minutes of it being delivered its stolen. The management won't do anything about it either. They don't care! They won't install security cameras so they don't know if the thief is someone living in the building or if its someone who is a nonresident sneaking in the garage/stairwell doors that don't lock. Because of this, residents have seen homeless people sleeping in the stairwells as well as human feces in the elevators.
Amenities: The elevators and pool were under maintenance every other week. Nothing in the building ever worked. It wouldn't be an issue if we weren't paying for the amenities with rent.
Location: Above a 7/11 which was nice at times except when the homeless is using our doorways for the bathroom and stabbing residents walking into...
Read moreWhile living in Little Italy is a great idea, moving into Camden Tuscany is just about the worst place you can rent. First and foremost, it is incredibly unsafe. Homeless people are CONSTANTLY getting in the building, sleeping in hallways, under the stairs and in the garage. Also, personal property and packages are often stolen from areas that are supposedly secure. You should see our Camden residents’ portal! So many people posting about all the things that have been stolen. (Cue the management commenting that they are working with the police and changing some doors to prevent this problem. “Crime is everywhere.” Yeah... ok. You get to go home at 5 pm. I wonder if they’ve had to step over a homeless man sleeping in their doorway to exit their home? I have! Do you want to live somewhere that literally has to partner with the police to learn how to stop this rampant crime? Trust me, you don’t want to live through their learning curve. We’ve been here 8 months and it just keeps getting worse.) Overall, the building is pretty dirty. The carpets are stained, the sidewalks out front are stained with dog pee and smell horrific and the pool is not maintained well. The appliances in the units are not energy efficient at all so expect higher than average electric bills. Finally, and this is the one thing out of the control of the weak management, the property is right on top of the trolley/train tracks so you will hear the DING DING DING DING of those arms going up and down 24/7, every 7-10 minutes. No matter what they tell you, unless you face the pool you can here those tracks loud and clear! Bottom line: yes, this is one of the cheapest places to rent in Little Italy but at what cost? Do you want to pay more or wake up to a bag of human feces that a homeless man smushed through your...
Read moreOk 1 this place is not set up for dogs, but theyre allowed. Lazy people take their dogs to the bathroom onthe carpet in the hallways, other lazy people have them go to the bathroom just outside the front side entrance. EVERYWHERE! this can be helped by putting down one of those green doggy dodo mats, and then at least all the dogs would be going to the bathroom in the same spot, and not all over so your stepping in it. 2 parking in a huge problem, if you forget by accedent that tomorrow morning they have the saturday street fair, MINIMUM YOU PAY 400 DOLLARS FOR TOWING. MINIMUM! I Unforunatley had it done 2wice in one month i owed 900 dallars cash to road one towing, in one month....... Not fun it was more like 460 each time i was towed, but i was being generous. 3. This place is not luxury, its just in little italy... Its overpriced, and your not treated as a guest that they like, if you dont renew your lease within a month till your due dates up, they punish you by setting a very high new rent rate, not what i call costomer care. That being said, the guys at the front desk are nice... And i have plush carpents and 7 11...
