I really wanted to like this place because I live in the neighborhood. I asked for a simple natural nail look and ended up with cuts along my cuticle line from the nail file and buffer he used. I told the man who did my nails several times that he was hurting me and although he apologized, no adjustments were made.
At the end the owner asked me how my service was and I told him the man who did my nails hurt me. I showed him and he responded with "he did your cuticles for free of charge". I never asked for anything to be done to my cuticles, nor was there a discussion had at any point about my cuticles other than when I pointed out that he was hurting me. This was extremely invalidating as I have had my cuticles cared for many times before and there is no bleeding or pain involved and clean tools were used, but not here. I went to pay and the owner asked to make sure I was sending the correct amount through- I left in tears and in pain.
I have serious concerns about the training of the employees and the cleanliness of the facility (none of the tools had been sanitized prior or unwrapped in front of me like other salons) and the fact that I had to pay full price despite leaving with my fingers in pain. I have paid the same price for competent, skilled, and most importantly sanitary services before and was totally shocked. I am...
Read moreEDITED REVIEW: (see below for initial review) I increased stars from 2 to 3 as I did have a better second experience after the owner reached out and encouraged me to try again. They offered a discount which I appreciated and I could tell they were trying to make my experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately my nails still started chipping less than 1 week after my appointment. I got my nails done Thursday and by Monday I had 3 slightly chipped nails which is definitely disappointing. The service and cleanliness however was much improved.
Unfortunately I had a pretty unpleasant experience overall. For starters, when I sat down they asked what I wanted to drink but then never brought it (they were not busy, I was the only customer in the store at this time). This was annoying but fine…the towels they used appeared visibly dirty and it made me question the sanitation of the tools as well. I did not receive a foot or hand massage despite the fact that I requested full manicure and pedicure - all I got was about a 30 second calf massage (total, counting both legs here). And lastly, while I liked the look of my nails I could tell right away the gel manicure would not last and here I am less than one week later and my nails are...
Read moreI booked a gel. X fill through class pass. My nails were sanded down so much and the fill was such a thin layer that the nails are very thin and I'm afraid that they might break. The length and the shape of the nails are not the same to one another.
I brought in two pictures of what I wanted my nails to look like. I wanted them to be super bright and colorful. He picked out the colors of the rainbow and I said that we didn't need all those colors but he proceeded with them anyway. I stopped him once to tell him that I didn't like what he was doing. He switched it up a little bit, but I still have the colors of the rainbow on my nails. It got to a point where I had been there for so long. I just kind of wanted it to be done and I wanted to leave. I didn't want to continue to have the same conversation over and over. I'm lucky that it's June and that it's pride. So it'll be okay. Especially if my nails don't break like I think they might. After the service was finished, he charged me an additional $30, in total I spent $94 through class pass tip and the additional charge and all I want to do is paint over my nails and file...
