Vince Bartolotta from the Firm Thorsnes Bartolotta McGuire LLP was referred to me by a friend who is an excellent attorney in his own field. I needed someone who knew liability law and would help my daughter-in-Law. He referred me to Mr. Bartolotta. He was exactly the type of attorneys I was looking for. My son and grandson were in a collision with a 19 year old who was under the influence of drugs. My son and grandson were killed. Since the 19 year old was the only person left, he came up with a story that blamed my son for the accident. Upon leaving the hospital claiming a sore knee, he immediately hired an attorney to sue my daughter in law claiming my son caused the accident. When the police report came back it indicated the 19 year old clearly caused the accident by driving 90 miles per hour on a 45 miles per hour city street. It might sound like a slam dunk but we needed legal support. My daughter in law, Lorie, and son made the decision that she would be a stay at home mother. Why not, her husband was a very healthy hard-working man with a bright future. They wanted to give their son the best life they could. Now all she had left was an empty house and no job. Unfortunately the drive had no assets and a small insurance policy. That is where Mr.Bartolotta came in. He and his team worked hard to come up with several approaches to help Lorie and he did. Here are some of the reasons I liked working with him:

1. He gave us his personal phone number and almost always answered it personally. When he didn’t, he immediately got back to us the same day.
2. He never made us feel that we were bothering him or that our questions were dumb.
3. He never dodged questions.
4. He could always be depended on: a. He was always honest and told us what we needed to hear, even though we might not wanted to hear b. They came up with several creative ideas to increase the award. Again, she was a stay-at-home mother and lost everything. c. After the terms were agreed to, Mr. Bartolotta told us that if we needed anything else he will help. That did happen and he did help without asking for a fee. d. After several attempts they somehow got the insurance company to come up with additional money over the policy limits. I have other attorney friends who still can’t believe that this happened, but it did. The additional amount he received covered their fee. e. I am absolutely baffled, specially given the 5 stars reviews published here regarding this firm. A couple of weeks ago I contacted them and spoke to a paralegal who said that her job was to pass on her intake to an attorney and within 24 hours I would be advised if they were interested in taking my case. The issues are as follows: My optometrist Dr. Novo for over a year failed to tell me that I had a beginning of dry Macular Degeneration (MD); he also failed to refer me to a specialist who could have/should have started treatment and monitoring my condition. At my last exam in July, again Dr. Novo failed to mention the condition but the next day a nurse referred me to a retina specialist who advised me that over the past 12-15 months the Macular Degeneration had progressed from dry to wet and from mild to advanced. I now have to have shots into the eye once a month. I contacted this law firm to look into a possible case of medical malpractice or neglect. I just received a letter from Thorsness, Bartolotta and McGuire advising me that they are declining to take my case based on Dr. Novo's negligent method of treating "YOUR FIBROMYALGIA". I couldn't believe my eyes for I have never suffered from Fibromyalgia first of all, and if I did, an optometrist would be the last person I would chose to treat it. Someone at that law firm does not know the difference between "Macular Degeneration" and "Fibromayalgia". This coming from a firm specializing in medical malpractice ! No...
