First, as a Prelude, I do very few reviews. on the mat with Allison, what can I say. Private, in-home, one-on-one interaction between student and teacher Beats any Zoom online instruction homeschooling at its best. I started as a 65 + inflexible male. I've practiced with Alison for the past five months, twice per week. Years ago I took yoga classes at the "Y", that was the extent of my yoga experience. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Allison, besides being on time for appointments which is very rare in San Diego, she is very attentive, ensuring I am properly posed and getting the maximum out of each lesson. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Allison, she is a fantastic teacher, challenging and accommodating. She encourages you to do your best for what your body needs. Her experience and knowledge of the yoga practice is amazing. I always look forward to Allison's sessions, as I know it was just what I needed. I encourage everyone to check out her classes you won't be disappointed. Big shout out to on the mat...
Read moreWe were fortunate to have Allison lead a yoga session for us at a recent writing retreat. The group, consisting of a few graduate students from SDSU, greatly appreciated her contribution to a long day of writing and workshops. Allison's willingness to share her practice was invaluable, and her class comes highly recommended, regardless of experience or skill level. She excelled at assisting participants with their form and stretching, demonstrating her talent for modifying her class based on the group's needs or expertise. Her soothing voice and incorporation of aromatherapy added an extra dimension to the class, and her provision of mats for those in need was very thoughtful. Overall, her attention to individual needs and the meditative elements of her instruction made for a highly positive and enjoyable yoga session. We can't wait to...
Read moreI've been trainig with Allison for over a year, on a weekly basis. Here are some observations: - An incredibly capable practitioner and athlete - A gifted, gentle, relentlessly caring instructor who is genuinely interested in your success The second observation is important. If your instructor does not care about imparting knowledge, your ability and progress will be severely impacted. Allison does, really and personally, give a damn about your yoga practice. There's a lesson plan. There is always a range of options. There's supervision and assistance and advice and mentoring. Allison is one of the most versatile, capable teachers in San Diego, and I warmly recommend you...
