Very convenient port of entry to Mexico. We parked our car in the parking lot directly across the street from the port of entry. Our parking cost $9.00. The Mexican pedestrian port of entry starts just to the left of the parking lot. You walk across a winding elevated pedestrian bridge that eventually leads you down to a rail station area. Then you walk again past the rail plaza and the entryway to Mexico is again to the left at the end of the plaza. The pathway eventually leads to an entry point (pictured on the PedWest site).Go through the turnstiles and walk a bit further to the Mexican customs. There, you show them your passport and fill out a short form. When you leave Mexican customs, you walk down another pathway until you finally come out to a roadway. We paid $5.00 for a taxi ride into the shopping area. We knew to only pay $5.00 by listening to another group that negotiated a fare. Our taxi driver got us right to the shopping area which was 1.9 miles from the border. Based on the ride, it seemed like it would have been a tricky walk to the shopping area. Took another $5.00 ride back to the USA pedestrian port of entry which was 1.3 miles from the shopping area. Our driver knew just where to drop us off. (The USA pedestrian port of entry is almost a mile away from where you walk into Mexico). There was a very long elevated walkway that eventually led us to a turnstile. There were about 20 people ahead of us. Customs let some through the turnstile, waited a minute or so, then let more through. They checked to make sure we had passports after letting us through the turnstile. Then we waited in a customs line with about 50 people in line. There were 5 USA agents working which made the line go by quickly. Our agent asked to see our passports, asked what we were bringing in and how long we were in Mexico. Having a US passport makes entering back into the...
Read morePermanently CLOSED! Today I tried to cross over the border from Mexico to the United States using the crossing I had been using off and on for the past year and a half. I was able to enter the turnstile and maneuver the zig zag ramps and over pass until I reached the Customs and Immigration Control which was closed. I wasted 30 minutes of my time getting there, going through the rat maze to find some Immigration Agents - a dozen of them - doing nothing. But were they just doing nothing? I was told by the Agents that they did not have enough people to man Ped West and they were being used to baby sit the Adult Children Invaders coming to our country daily. Yet there were 12 Agents sitting on their hands at this BILLION DOLLAR Immigration and Custom Facility. However the turnstile is still open. PED WEST is still open. It is not open to you or me. It is not open to Legal Foreign Border Crossers. In the Early Hours of the morning each day White School Buses Contracted by the US Govt arrive under cover of darkness full of Illegal Immigrants. The Homeland Security Agents on hand act as Tour Guides to these Children Adult Invaders welcoming them to the land of Home Depot and Plenty. Let me say this again. This fairly new, barely used BILLION DOLLAR Immigration and Customs Facility paid for by our Tax Dollars is being used to smuggle in plain sight ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT INVADERS. All this while the older PED EAST facility has 2-3 hour wait times and lines that go for miles. Your tax dollars being used against you to...
Read moreUnacceptable Treatment at PedWest Entry
To whom it may concern,
My husband and I have been traveling between Utah and Mexico for over 20 years without any issues. However, our experience today at the PedWest entry was deeply disappointing.
After deciding to try this entry point, we stood in line for nearly two hours. While waiting, we overheard someone mention that the entry closes at 2:00 PM. To our surprise, there were no signs or clear notices informing travelers of this closing time.
We arrived at the entrance at 1:44 PM, only to have a male officer shut the doors in front of us and rudely declare, “The border is closed.” When other travelers questioned why the doors were being closed 15 minutes early, the officer ignored the concerns and instead made inappropriate comments, including, “This is the price you pay for entering Mexico.” His behavior was unprofessional, hostile, and seemed intended to provoke the crowd, causing unnecessary panic.
In contrast, a female officer intervened. She calmly informed us through the fence that there was an alternative entrance we could use. It was evident she was displeased with her colleague’s behavior, and her professionalism was a stark contrast to his conduct.
I hope this feedback reaches the appropriate authority so that steps can be taken to address such unprofessional behavior and improve communication at the PedWest entry point.
I dare you review your cameras from 11/17/2024 @1:44pm. You'll see your officer unsulting, provoking, and even...
