I was very excited to try this spot, especially now that they have locations across the city. However, the yoga at the Folk locations I visited (here and NOPA) was variable— some teachers were absolutely excellent, others pretty mediocre, offering the same sequence and music each time. Often the yoga was not challenging enough, even for their supposedly fastest and most vigorous classes. Several times, I found myself needing more exercise afterwards. Folk is also pretty expensive, especially given the variable and sometimes underwhelming experience. They also threaten to charge members 20 bucks for no shows, even though the classes I went to were almost never full and despite the fact that they canceled several classes last minute with no explanation or alternative. However, I must express significant disappointment regarding the handling of my membership. My monthly subscription was auto-renewed for $200, a situation complicated by the fact that I am currently residing outside the U.S. and had only visited San Francisco for a few weeks.
