Hidden Gem in the Richmond! My husband and I came to Corks after a rec from his coworker. While it's described as a wine bar, don't be so quick to skip out on their food—this place holds its own as a dinner spot.
We arrived pretty hungry after an afternoon in Golden Gate Park and ended up ordering more than usual, which turned out to be good thing...
Wine: Great selection of Italian wines. I'm certainly no expert, and the staff was helpful in guiding us. Appetizer: We started with the prosciutto and burrata, served with some bread. It was simple, fresh, and so satisfying. Mains: We shared the cinghiale (wild boar pasta) from the regular menu and the bottarga special. Both were rich, flavourful, and filling. Dessert: It was hard to choose just one, so we split the tronchetto and the pistachio cake—neither cake was too sweet and both were delicious.
We got there on the early side so it wasn't busy at first, but the place steadily filled up. However, even at its busiest, it never got too loud inside and it was still easy to hold a conversation. It's a cozy spot, with friendly and welcoming service, and you can get a fun peek into the kitchen too. If you plan to come at a busy time, consider making a reservation in advance.
Overall, I was really happy with my experience here from start to finish and I look forward to...
Read moreCute and cozy place! Appears to be a 2 Italian man shop so the food can come out a little slow understandably. Came with my coworkers a party of 8 on a Thursday night and we were the only ones there until closing 😭 i liked the appetizers better than my pasta. The spread was a cheese platter, prosciutto burrata, squid ink pasta (recommend and I usually don’t like squid ink pasta), vodka prosciutto pasta (also recommend), rabbit ragu, duck ragu, and boar ragu. The ragu in my opinion were ok and it lacked sauce for duck and rabbit (no tomato sauce in the rabbit?) although I’m sure the Italians know exactly they’re doing and I just have an uncivilized American interpretation of what ragu is! I love that they serve you WARM bread. My coworker spilled her wine and the worker kindly poured her another glass. I definitely recommend this place and wish it had...
Read moreI was out for a "catch up with friends" evening. The playlist really caught my attention and management even offered to change the music if we weren't happy. The overall vibe was relaxed and comfortable.
Beyond ambiance, the manager took time to find out what wine palates each person had and then offered a taste of his suggestions before having us commit to full glasses. The wines were lovely and everyone enjoyed more than one glass.
We didn't order food beyond a shared tiramisu dessert. It was terrific.
This was a great place to go with friends and would also be a good date night spot.
I genuinely look forward to returning to this location to try the menu and...
