Iāll start by saying the staff had always been lovely, however, I took a pair of shoes in for repair, Iād had for just over 6 months and received a repair I didnāt ask for and wasnāt happy with. It was the opposite of the repair I had asked for.
They did swap them with new shoes. Unfortunately the replacement shoes were ill fitting and didnāt work out. I only tried them on, never wore them. I went back to try another pair (the same shoe) but they didnāt have the style anymore in that size and couldnāt guarantee I wouldnāt have the same issue.
I decided to go with a different more structured style. The new style was slightly more expensive.
I had to pay the difference AND they said it was a final sale. I let them know immediately that this was not my fault and I didnāt even want a new pair of shoes to begin with, I only ended up in this situation because I got a repair I didnāt ask for, rubber bottoms instead of leather.
The manager then turns and tells me: āwell, we still have your old shoes in the back, we can strip the bottom but youāre going to have to pay for the repair.ā
WHAT??!! So I can get exactly what I asked for in the first place, but will now have to pay several hundred dollars when it was their mistake in the first place?? As you can imagine, it was very upsetting and frustrating to hear that.
It was cheaper to pay the difference for the shoes in a new style than to pay for the repair. So thatās what I did, paid the difference (ended up paying more than I originally paid) and now have a pair of shoes that are not my favorite and are final sale.
I have been shopping there for years. This transaction and situation did not feel good and that is just not the experience I expect to ever have when purchasing...
Ā Ā Ā Read more8/3/21: The place was only OK. I did not have a great experience. The sales guy at 11 am was only partially adequate. He answered my questions fine, but he was so subdued & not congenial, I was not impressed at all. Their men's offerings were scant. If the sales guy wants to make a commission from me, he'll have to work much harder. Otherwise I will show him by trying items on in their store but then buying the items online & having the items delivered to the store š¬ for pick up, & I will let them all know I did it so they would not earn commission but still see š šļøšļø that I bought the items I tried on in their š¬. Those people need to be shown who's the boss of your wallet! I spent $3,800 at Fendi that same day with my appreciative & friendly sales man. The Gucci sales guy needs to learn how to be a proper sales man or he will never make a commission from me. I know the power of my š°š¤. And another thing: the Gucci sales guy or anyone there did not offer me refreshments. They should have offered me at least š¦ water. I am always offered refreshments at my normal shops: Valentino, Fendi, Tiffany & Co., & Louis Vuitton.
