Two things. First they have a dishonest policy of putting price tags on suit coats which they show you when you tell them you are shopping for a suit. They helped me find the right suit coat and then said let's get the right size pants, which they did, including marking the cuff for their tailor to make them the right length. It was only when I came to the checkout that I found out that what I assumed was the suit price did not include the pants for which they added $150 to the bill plus $18 for tailoring. I was shocked but also psychologically committed to buying the suit, which I needed very soon for a wedding. So I just paid, even though I realized I had been scammed. The second thing that really put me through the roof happened when I came to pick up the suit. I am 81 years old and my bladder is not as strong as it once was. I fairly urgently asked if I could use their restroom and they said no, that was for employees only. I blew up and started shouting loudly that I had just spent $600 in their store and they would not let me use their restroom. There were other customers in the store who heard me and gave me commiserating looks. Read moreUpdate: Had to go to a new MW store to get resized. As it turns out (and as I suspected) the staff at this SF store were just flat out wrong — and the new tux fit great. This is both a huge relief and hugely frustrating that I had to jump through this many hoops to get sized properly. All-in-all, do not come to this location. I updated the star rating to reflect this: one star because it shows the problem wasn’t the tux, but the staff’s ability to size me properly or unwillingness to help me out by suggesting a new size.
Original Post: Groomsman at a wedding. Tuxedo options were incredibly ill-fitting. Staff told me to "go find an open dressing room" and hung out by the cash register. After I expressed that the pant options did not fit, they didn't bother to look at what I was talking about, they stayed right by the cash register, so I had to walk back and forth across the store -- in and out of the dressing room about a half dozen times. Staff didn't bother to take measurements again, didn't bother to take time to try and find a solution. Staff's answer was basically "these are your only choices, so just pick one." Very unhelpful, and left the store feeling defeated, discouraged, and really dreading the way I am going to look at...
Read moreMixed feelings. My partner and I were happy to find jackets we liked, thanks to the help of one of the employees. However, our experience took a downturn when I asked about certain pants and colour. One of the staff members response was off-putting and plainly rude, and things only worsened as he followed us around the store without explanation. While I understand that SF theft situation is out of control, this behavior was unjustified and uncomfortable.
We were close to leaving, if it wasn't for us really liking the jackets we've found.
It's unfortunate that the excellence from one staff member was overshadowed by the negative attitude of another.
We left right after paying for those jackets and went shopping...
