So much love and gratitude for this gym, I don't even know where to begin! I've been going to Perform For Life for about a year now and it's the best decision I ever made.
When I first started my fitness journey, I was really discouraged. I failed high school PE (haha), and only ever did cardio for exercise so the idea of lifting weights and strength training was foreign to me. The moment I walked into Perform For Life, that intimidation feeling I always get when I walk into a gym immediately went away. The atmosphere here is so positive! All of the coaches here are super welcoming, supportive, and knowledgeable. It really feels like a tight knit community when you come in.
The biggest thanks for my new found confidence in myself, and love for lifting weights and working out goes to my Coach Kris Gallimore. I was first paired with him based on my specific goals and his experience previously training tactical athletes. He's patient, encouraging, super informative, and most of all so genuine and makes working out so much fun and enjoyable. The programs he's put together for my goals are top-notch, and we do so much different variety of workouts each session. Every session I feel challenged, and so proud of myself for accomplishing something I did not even know I was capable of. My most recent accomplishment was 30 inch box jumps!! I can’t say thank you enough to him for encouraging me to challenge myself both mentally and physically every session. Seriously, I could rave about him for hours.
They also have small group classes that's taught by amazing coaches to supplement the work you are doing with your coach 1:1. These classes are capped at about 5 people so you still have that intimate community feeling.
Any fitness goals that you have, Perform For Life can get you there. They will help you meet, and exceed your own expectations that you did not even know you...
Read moreI want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to Performance for Life / Performance for Golf Facility and trainer Angus Lee! I have been playing competitive sports since I was very young; playing softball for a Big Ten School was a highlight. I do wish they had more training involved in sports when I was involved as it would have saved some major injuries. I have now switched to golf over the last few years and with the time I have to devote to the sport I feel I have accomplished a lot. I work out a lot and I feel I am in decent shape; but I decided to google something close to my office that could offer me a program to help improve my golf game through fitness. As we age golf is hard on the body and knowing what you can do to help this process, I feel is key. I found Performance for Life / Performance for Golf! I went to the initial assessment, and they worked with you on the weakness you can key in on that would help your golf game. I have now been with Performance for Golf for the last 3 months and working with Angus Lee has improved my game and I have not even been able to play because of the rain. The few times I have been able to play I can tell I make a better connection with the ball; and it has made a 1 club difference. Angus pays attention to what is going on with your body and will adjust each week to help you make improvements on the course. We work a lot of rotation and staying down on the swing. (This is all done without a golf club and then when I have been on the course, I feel I have the motion needed to make the proper connection.) Everyone at the FiDi facility is very welcoming and the facility is very clean and convenient to get to. I truly feel this has not only helped me with my golf game in a short amount of time but also for the Game of...
Read moreI have been going to Perform For Life in Hayes Valley for almost seven months and am so glad I found this place and now I'm very excited to be working out at their 3rd location in FidDi! Their new location is just as awesome - conveniently located near public transportation, multiple full showers with amenities, and lockers. Plus the new space is huge and I love the brick wall and plants in pots surrounding their logo right when you walk in!
As a runner whose been running for many years now, when I found out about the run lab analysis, I knew I had to do it. After the analysis, I was partnered with Randy and have been working with him ever since. I train with him 1:1 once a week. The workouts are never the same and I'm continuously challenged week after week. He genuinely cares about his clients and their goals and is attentive, positive, professional, patient, knowledgeable, and most of all encouraging. He's always checking my form and will make adjustments to ensure that I'm doing them correctly. He even noticed when I look like I need to loosen my muscles with the various massage guns without me saying sometimes! He is also very responsive to any questions I have about the exercises and has provided workouts to do on my own when not training with him. It is awesome to work with a trainer who is also a runner as well. He understands what my needs are to get better and to keep running for a very long time! Working with Randy has been invaluable to my overall mobility and strength in running which has made me a better runner. Very happy to have found...
