All the staff were very nice. I'm an elementary teacher here in SF, and I went down there to get some ideas for Black History month- the women at the front desk were very helpful and told me about a free workshop for educators the next day. I can't say enough about the exhibits on the 2nd and 3rd floors- Feb 5 2015- The art was so beautiful and amazing that for the first time I envied the security guards who got to look at it all day. I am so glad I went to the MOAD - I didn't realize how cutting edge, beautiful and inspiring that place is. I will definitely become a member to support such an important place. Im proud SF has this really fantastic art and educational...

Read moreVery cool museum. One if my favorites in the city because IMHO it is the perfect size to spend about 45 mins to 1 hour, not get overwhelmed, but still learn a lot. The exhibits are varied and have multimedia, sculpture, paintings, and more. The quality of the information on display is also quite high. One main description and no repetition when it's the same artist later along is something I appreciate in a museum. The current exhibit Liberatory Living: Protective Interiors and Radical Black Joy with mostly interior decor is fantastic. An important message. The gift shop is also well curated. So excited to own a Shiela Bridges art piece for...
