The Container Store — Local services in San Francisco

I was going to post a prior review but decided not to post until I gave this store another visit. I visited this store on a Tuesday figuring it has to better than my last experience on a Sunday. It was not. Their ceiling is dripping water in multiple spots, corrugated boxes everywhere, making it impossible to shop. Personally I don't like shopping when there is water dripping around me. Perhaps this store should close for a day for repairs? I tried to get assistance as what I came looking for was blocked by boxes. Could not find anyone to help me, as the one employee said she needed to get a pallet jack. Not even sure what that is. After waiting for 10 minutes. I left without making my purchase. Prior to this visit, I went in to the store a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon. The store was busy. I could not find one employee to assist me. There was a young lady who I found, but when I asked for help she rudely stated that she was not available as she had someone waiting in the garage. I found 2 of 6 items and went to pay. One cashier Ten people ahead of me. In line for 25 minutes while the cashier did his best to get through the line as quickly as he could. This is not easy when customers have dozens of items in all different shapes and sizes. The gentleman was being berated by complaints. I felt badly for him. I tried to make him smile when I reached his register. You can see the distress in his eyes. I asked him if I could speak with a manager. He did call on his walkie talkie, but nobody came out. It saddened me to see this. It truly did sadden me to see the stress in this employees eyes. Between this particular Sunday, and this past Tuesday, I do not think I can walk...

Now this is the first one star review I've given. Ironically over the past year this has been my favorite store. I love the idea of a place where organization is the main objective. All of their products are extremely useful although a little overpriced. However this store particularly I would avoid at all costs. Not only do they make their disdain for me apparent upon walking in the front door, but the staff also lied to me several times in an attempt to usher me out before I could find the products that I know they carry. After finding what I came for, specifically RFID protected travel organizers, vacuum sealed compression bags, and soft organizers perfect for travel... I had reached my absolute limit. I had been harassed several times at this point, I had been lied to as I was standing in front of the products that I was asking for several times, and I had made my decision that I would not be spending any money in the store, unfortunately as I had found everything I needed and would have spent what I consider a small fortune. Maybe that's for the best, I am glad I know the products I need and the store to avoid.

DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE!!!!! I ordered a custom closet design build for my closet in a new unit. I spent $2,000+ on parts and professional installation and they messed up my order FOUR TIMES and had me drive to the store TWICE after the told me all my parts were ready for pickup, over and over and over again I was missing parts as they kept telling me they had everything and the professional installers couldn’t finish the job from all the missing parts. This 2 week wait time is turning into TWO MONTHS … AND their internal system says they sent all the parts and now my closet is half built and they can’t tell me if they will even send the rest of the parts. WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD PERIOD. I’ve kept every receipt and every piece of paper and they don’t even know what parts they are missing! I’ll be send a formal letter to senior mgmt and corporate to complain. Update: finally after I requested multiple times to speak to a manager the real manager called me and told me simply and precisely what went wrong and how he will fix it, literally all I was asking for - a plan of action.
