Derco is the best if you care about quality! I have been coming here for over 25 years and they always have the best selection and prices. For a business to have survived for so long, you know that they are scrupulous, and that’s one of the reasons they have such a loyal customer base.

They have kept up with the times and now offer a custom jewelry service where you can design your own jewelry. They also offer both contemporary and classic styles to suit most tastes. In fact, I was surprised at how many non-traditional wedding band materials and styles they carry in their showroom to appeal to all ages and budgets.

For those who are concerned about mined diamonds or stones, they also carry a large selection of lab-grown stones.

Although their prices for some items might be higher than a comparable style you see elsewhere (for example certain warehouse conglomerates), the quality of the components and workmanship will always be higher (if you care about that sort of thing). Similarly, if you are looking for a quality loose stone, their prices may not be lower than a stone you get from an online website. However, for anyone who knows diamonds, so much of what is important is the cut and brilliance/fire, something that you can’t see from online pictures, even if you see the inclusions on the certificates. Derco has a big enough selection of both certified and non-certified loose stones that you will be able to sit down and look through different stones with a jeweler’s loupe and be able to find the perfect stone to fit your specific budget.

For loose mined diamonds, they will also give you full credit for the price you paid when you upgrade, and not very many other places will do that. Although a diamond is forever, your tastes and budget may not stay the same as you age, so you will always be able to get your money back when you upgrade to the next phase.

When you are there, be sure to ask for Judy! She has been working there for 27 years so definitely knows her stuff. Unlike some other salespeople, she will always respect your opinion and give you what are asking for, rather than push her own tastes onto you. She has helped me with so many different pieces over the years and is extremely trustworthy and honest, and would never pressure you into buying something you’re not sure about. She also doesn’t pressure you into spending more than your budget, so she can definitely be trusted.

They also offer free cleaning and inspection of your jewelry over the life of your jewelry. And if you ever need any pieces repaired, you know that they will not switch out your stones.

There are many expressions of love, and I am so grateful to have found Derco (Judy, Jack). I honestly can never forget my experience here and found myself taking pictures so I can savor it.

They are true professionals. Judy and their team custom designed my ring for my partner. I was very nervous about it. Even though two of our closest friends actually had had their engagement rings here (all parties without prior knowledge of each other). I know the ring had to have certain features, but still carry a particular feeling. Which I honestly couldn’t describe - it was just something I had to feel. I’d checked out hundreds of rings, and finally found a time to get to Derco.

I listened and learned so much from Judy. And after I describes things, hearing her repeat the vision made me feel secure. But even though she “got it”, that still had to be translated to the ring maker. Then She texted me and I saw the wax ring a Thursday afternoon. My heart felt so much lighter. I knew that I got the ring she was going to love. They have the eyes for the subtle details, that honestly feel like I was being ridiculously detail oriented - but they get it.

Throughout this, I loved the communication. The texting, the greeting - you know they are a big deal when you get there. At the same time, you get this sense that the owners work so hard. They are so warm, not pretentious, but you can tell they are very sharp knowledgeable and have a passion for this job. And they truly work hard to pass on that skill they’ve developed to make our special experience so memorable.

It’s touching to know that some of Judy’s new clients are the daughters of her first client. Seeing her tear up from joy showed me how much she cared about her job and her clients.

And, I’m helping a family owned business — Yet simultaneously their jewelry has that millennial touches, modern classic subtle and beautiful - they specialize in understanding their client, and their vision and sharing their art. What a disappointment for me! I loved my engagement ring from Derco until after 9 years of wearing it (not on a daily basis!) the diamond just fell off the ring and lost. We brought the golden base to the expert jeweler. He inspected it and declared that the 4 of 6 prongs broke because of flawed workmanship. 9 years is not a term for the dimond ring to break just on its own. Derco didn't even acknowledged they did a poor job. They tried to put everything on me- the client- who didn't bring the ring every 2-3 years for inspection. You gotta be kidding me, Derco! I didn't wear it every day, only special occasions. We will have the full expert report to be written on this ring with lost dimond. And never ever me or my friends are buying anything from Derco-poor-quality company. For the people who read reviews and take them seriously- BE CAREFUL WITH DERCO, THEY HAVE LOW QUALITY WORKMEN. IF YOU LOSE YOUR DIAMOND THEY DON'T CARE!

UPDATE:

In response to the owner's response: yes, you are responsible for the quality of your workmanship. All those excuses are just unwillingness to accept that your WORK WAS FLAWED. That's it. I had my mother-in-law who wore her diamond ring for 40 years every day of her life doing crafting job. I have many other examples to say that your lame excuses about "we don't take responsibility for such a loooong span of dimond ring life" are ridiculous and pitiful. Whoever writes this responses to people- I doubt it is the real owner- should be ashamed and accept the truth: you had a very poor workmanship 9 years ago. My diamond fell off. I have an expert report. You are not going to fool around me or real knowledgeable ppl. As I said earlier- nothing in the world makes me buy a spec of dust from your company. Period. I hope other people will be cautious about your company. To lose a dimond after 9 years of not even wearing it daily is not the same as to lose a button on a suit. Goodbye...
