AK Subs — Restaurant in San Francisco

I gotta write a review. I don’t often write on google reviews but I have to. This is a no middle sandwich spot! Terry is a wonderful person and man tbh I wasn’t sure what to get but she said “imma get you a better one” and I said okay. We had a mini conversation about her friend Adonis who I also worked with and because he’s the one that brought me to AK subs. Before I let her know I knew him she was already kind and nice to me. I’ll always like a place when it’s clean looking, good vibes feeling and most importantly the person at the Register and people cooking are great people. Man thank you so much. She also gave me a side of fries lmao big ups to you TERRY😂💪🏽

PSA: I only spent I believe $16+ and it’s way better and heavier load than many many sandwiches spots in downtown area lol could...

Incredible bang for your buck at AK Subs! The food was phenomenal. I got the pastrami sandwich as well as the soup of the day (corn chowder). I went in with fairly high expectations based on other reviews, and was still blown away. The sandwich was stuffed with meat, the cheese melded nicely with the natural gelatin in the pastrami, and it was tied together perfectly with a solid punch of mustardy goodness. On a totally unrelated note, I was also pleasantly surprised by the corn chowder - I wasn't expecting it, but it actually had a nice little kick!

It's possible that I just went on a bad day, but I tried to call ahead to place my order so I could get in and out ASAP. I ended up being on hold for close to 5 minutes, and ended up being able to walk in and order from the register instead. A lot of people were there for their smoothies, but I just got Die's Decadence and a side from their deli. It was decent, or better than average.

Behind the counter seemed a little dirty, and I was not a fan of how the staff conducted themselves in front of customers. There was some issue in the kitchen, and the tension was exuded from the kitchen to the rest...
