Ashy Aromas — Local services in San Jose

I had the loveliest experience today at Ashy Aromas that I HAD to write a review the same day!

This divine little place is in the heart of First Street nestled among great eats. We had an appointment at 11 am, but it’s advisable to give yourself enough time to park in the area because it can get quite busy, and also to take in the scents once you arrive at Ashy.

Our candle making expert, Sean, was awesome! He was friendly, engaged, and extended so much warmth, I felt like we had been friends for 20 years. Sean explained all the tools, the steps, and leave all fragrance expectations behind, so we went with the flow.

My friend and I chose the same candle vessel - GOLD- to fit our feeling princesses day 😂. We smelled our way through a couple dozen france sticks, and then came THE most difficult part…we had to make our choices. We walked away with a 12 oz candles and room sprays that was our personal picks , just for us. It was absolute heaven.

And to make it even more of a forever experience, you can refill your candle vessel with the same or different scents (I didn’t check the cost on this one though). They will be adding perfumes and colognes soon, too. Seriously, I juat wanted to move in with my bed and night table - the scents just fill you up with zen. Ohmmmm

This is a great place to plan for birthdays, team building, or other special events.

i was waiting for my friend at San Pedro Market and the scent drew me into the shop. Ashton and Brian are so friendly and personable. The space is well appointed, welcoming, and has a chill vibe. After chatting with Ashton and Brian, i ended up taking my friend back in and we made some candles today. He and I really enjoyed the experience. It was fun! Brian has a nose for scents. He listens to your input on what you like and guides you towards achieving a blend you'll love. i am sensitive to smells and have bad allergies. The scents used here are higher-end. i had no issues regardless that i smelled quite a few scents before settling on the blend i wanted. There are many choices of sizes, styles, and price points for your candle vessel. I found that they're all high quality and reasonably priced. Had the best experience with my girls at Ashy Aromas on Saturday 1/27. Ashton and the whole staff made us feel welcomed & educated us on the candle making process + how to make a custom scent blend. Ashton took his time, was thorough, patient with us (because we were rowdy and having a good time - thank you for the complimentary wine! 😂), and answered any and all questions we had. This is really a perfect place to come for any occasion with your loved ones or coworkers & the possibilities are endless as far as what you can create.
