This was by far the BEST AND WORST HOTEL expected I've had . Let's start by the location and first arrival from a long airport trip was extremely welcoming stunningly beautiful and right in the beach . The night desk man was such an amazing vibe he was so helpful and made check in a breeze and informed us of so many interesting facts about the island including printing is off a list of restraunts that delivered or had taken out. 10 outta 10. When we got to our room the bed was one of the most comfortable if ever slept in and pillows on point. The room was small but very nice and had most all hotel amenities you needed including shampoos and conditioner for showers . The resort itself was stunning. It's under construction and so be aware you will hear it over the next few months. other then that the resort was really nice and affordable offering beach chairs and loungers with people stopping by to see if you needed anything from towels to cocktails topped with an amazing view from the ATLANTIC bar and dining which does host drag brunches. Highly recommend and the avocado toast delicious and beautifully portioned! The front desk and hotel staff were so friendly and enjoy. Sadly this all changed the day of check out. Deciding to take a dip in the ocean one last time and say goodbye before heading home I took my wallet and things deciding to hold in to them and not worry that they get wet rather than leave them in the room or on the beach .. such as I'd been doing the entire stay. I placed my wet money on the AC unit to dry while I packed up the rest of my things and cleaned up the room as I like to be respectful to the staff who has to clean up after me. I gathered my things and went down to check out. Pulling out my wallet to check out id realized Yes like a silly goose I spaced the money in vent drying!!! I told the front desk gal and went straight up to the room the maid was there and you guessed it she hadn't seen anything. . Now knowing I mistakenly left it I was only hoping for some honesty and not to be made like I was lying and trying to extort the resort .. which is exactly what they did. The story kept changing and I knew she was lying simply because her stories did not add up and continued to changed. First she wasnt in the room , then only at the door to grab towels . Now I left my keys like asked on the desk per checkout instruction and all towels in a pile in the bath room. all towels , keys and laundry was stripped already out the room ... I was upset to the point I asked for the manger and I was told he went to the local convenient store and be back soon . Now these guys know I have a fight and can't wait endlessly. So I said we need to call the authorities...suddenly the male manager arrived from the back . He claimed she was the oldest worker there but didn't know her name and was just jerking us around. He even told us he couldn't call the cops until after we left and he has to open an entire investigation to even look at the cameras which were and were not working he claimed ... All in all you could tell it was a scam and the manager and lady were playing games . I don't care what they reply to this If it's not taking accountability they are just lying. They made me out to be a liar and crazy when I just made a mistake and wanted some honesty. This place is great but sadly like many places don't slip up and make sure you double check your stuff your tabs because they will rob you they do have thieves and they will jerk you around if given the chance ! My rating is for all over experience and while this happened i don't believe all staff and all this experience was shady or bad. Last thing if you are not open to LGBTQ or are with children and rather them not see a ton of beach man booty I recommend researching ❤️ we are loving and open minded but it's not really displayed anywhere so be aware that's the vibe .

I stayed here in September 2024 as an 8-day remote workcation before the upcoming new renovation. I had an Ocean View King room. I must say that it is a great quick-stay party hotel. Ultimately though I cannot recommend staying here for remote work because of the loud patio pop-remix music that is programmed from 9 AM to 12 AM Midnight 15 hours a day. It made living in the room almost impossible. Thankfully with earplugs I could sleep. But working at a computer with the music through the day was difficult. There are also crazy drag shows on the patio on Sundays which are so loud, I got off the plane and uber during a drag show and couldn't believe what I was walking into, people were enjoying it and having fun, but thankfully the weekdays were more quiet. Monday they forgot to turn the patio volume down from the Sunday show, so I had to go ask for them to lower the music volume which they did a little bit. The room was otherwise very nice and swanky which I enjoyed. It had it's own home-style HVAC + Thermostat AC unit which worked great - however because the HVAC unit pulled air in from the hallway - it essentially let in all the hallway noise into the room, and people in the hallway could also hear easily out of my room. I also disliked the lack of a real indoor main lobby as it was always so hot humid and loud in their outside bar lobby. It made it difficult to talk to the desk attendant. The bar restaurant is also very nice but extremely expensive. Two drinks with tip $35. French Toast like $25. Breakfast is not included so I just starved until lunch every morning, real bummer. Even being on the beach out front you can still hear the patio pop music, you have to walk quite far away from the hotel to get away from the music. There is a skyscraper next door that is under construction, that was also very loud. The location is extremely desirable and perfect. I believe the non-ocean view rooms would be more quiet - however I toured a non-ocean view and they are tiny basic rooms. The renovation looks amazing and they will be adding patio stoops to the ocean view rooms which would have been nice, and a whole new condo-sized building with tons of rooms and garage parking. So 2025 / 2026 it will basically be a whole new hotel.

Checking into The Tryst Beachfront Hotel in Puerto Rico felt like stepping onto the set of a reality show called “Extreme Makeover: Hotel Edition (Budget Version).” The phrase “putting lipstick on a pig” sprang to mind—then promptly unpacked its suitcase when I walked into the room. Small, old, and desperately trying to pass as modern with a few retrofitted touches, it’s like someone gave a facelift to a rotary phone. The bathrooms? Vintage. No counter space, lots of character, and clearly hanging on by a thread. Room 303 deserves a shoutout for its prime location—right at the intersection of every single door in the hotel. You’ll enjoy surround-sound slams from your neighbors and an exclusive eavesdropping experience thanks to the paper-thin walls. The front desk staff was friendly, but the policies were straight out of the 1990s. Despite my room being ready when I arrived, I was told I couldn’t go in until the sacred hour of 3:00 p.m. Rules are rules, even if they make zero sense! I did receive a very official-looking email two days before check-in asking me to complete an online form, promising a speedy process via a QR code. Spoiler alert: the QR code reader is fictional. Check-in was slow, awkward, and involved charging my card more times than a late-night infomercial. One charge for the room, one for the deposit, and possibly one just for fun. Also, there’s no pool. Nope. Not even a kiddie one. If you saw one in their marketing materials, that’s called creative storytelling. The bar? Drinks are reasonably priced during happy hour ($10 cocktails!), but the bartenders seem to have made a blood pact to never smile or move quickly. It’s like they’re punishing you for ordering. Bonus soundtrack: all-day construction noise from the towering high-rise being built next door. Jackhammers make great white noise, right? Now, to be fair—it’s oceanfront, has beach access, my room had a view of the water, it’s more affordable than nearby hotels, it’s LGBTQ+ friendly, and the neighborhood is buzzing. Those are solid wins. So, would I stay here again? Maybe for a night or two… max. After that, you might start to feel like the pig. Lipstick and all.

Hello, I stayed at the Tryst Beachfront Hôtel for almost 2 weeks. I needed a longer vacation and chose to stay at a hotel on the beach. The hotel is located in a beautiful location which is right on the beach, near bars and restaurants which are within walking distance. The restaurant at the hotel has a good manual and the food was great but service needs to improve a lot. I walked in and sat down only to wait 20 minutes before I realized I had to ask an employee for assistance or no one would take my order. After eating and siting there for sometime afterwards, I noticed I had to ask the employee to bring my bill. Employees were not friendly at all. They do not approach you or greet you. Keep in mind, many people who visit a Caribbean island are on vacation and are looking for conversation, good times and good vibes from the natives or people there. You cant have employees at any business' working with tourist at a Caribbean island or customers who are not into conversation or speaking to them.

While at the Tryst Beachfront Hotel, house keeping did a wonderful job. While I was at the hotel for almost two weeks, I asked house keeping to clean my room and other times I asked for fresh towels. I got them right away. House keeping also did a great job cleaning the my bathroom, hallways and keeping floors clean. Housing keeping was always pleasant and open to conversing with you.

While I was at the hotel I noticed a big dumpster right in the front of the hotel. Which I had to pass everyday several times going in and out of the hotel. The dumpster was part of the renovation process that was occurring during my stay at the hotel for the full length. I was informed by a front desk employee the renovation was going to take place for a year. The dumpster in the front of the hotel had a terrible smell radiating from it which I and other occupants had to pass and smell everyday. I took a closer look at what was causing the smell. As I approached the dumpster, I noticed the smell getting stronger and what seem to be 100 or more flies flying around and landing on what appeared to smell and look like raw meat. I also noticed the upper 3rd floor outside deck was closed the whole time I visited. Occupants were not able to use it. The restaurant and lower out deck were closed for a day because of renovation. Occupants could not use it. A lot of workers, noise and dust in the air.

The Tryst Beachfront Hotel has a lot of protentional. When I made a the reservation after arriving, I felt I was mislead. The webpage came across as if the renovations were already made. Not in process. I probably would have stayed at a different hotel if I new the hotel was going through a renovation. I enjoyed the good food, staying right on the beach and viewing the beautiful scenery everyday. Once the renovation is over and some other changes are made people will enjoy themselves even more.

I tend to be a far person and give a business a chance to make it right. I sent an email to the Tryst email they provide to there customers. I informed them, I enjoyed my stay but would like to visit after all renovations were completed. Since somethings were closed. I also mentioned if they could give me a discount for my possible Next Visit to make up for short comings this past visit. Because of the renovations. I was so nice I didn't even ask for a discount for this past visit. Maybe signed coupon for 30% or 40% off my possible next visit. I received an email back from the Tryst business office stating, thank you for your visit. That was it!

Copy of the email sent to me: Dear..... We sincerely appreciate your feedback and at the same we are happy you had a nice experience with...

First the good

The hotel is right on the beach with a gorgeous view. The rooms, while tiny, are fairly nice. Big TV and the AC keeps you really cool. The morning coffee is good and you have a nice ocean front view while sipping it on the patio.

Chris at the restaurant is one of the best waiters I have ever had. So good that I had to give him a shot out.

Jacob at the front desk is also extremely helpful. Great employees both of them. Give them a raise, they deserve it.

The gym is probably the best I’ve ever seen at a hotel. It’s the next building over and they give you access to it at the front desk. It’s not owned by the hotel but you have 24/7 access for free. Seach for Phyt New York right next door to see pics. Squat rack, bench, cardio, a lot of dumbbells and machines, great for a quick workout.

Internet was decent too. Restaurant ain’t bad either.

The bad:

These queen rooms are for one person, maybe two people if you packed a very small amount of stuff. A few drawers and a closet with about 8 hangers. No microwave but a mini fridge in it. There is one light switch on the wall and you can’t turn the lights on/off from the bed. No table lamps so you have the choice of pitch black or very bright. Outlets only on one side of the bed.

The shower is the world’s smallest. I can’t fit two size 12 shoes across it. Hot water takes about 5-8 minutes to come through the faucet. Turn on the hot water, go check your instagram and wait a while is what I usually did.

I came downstairs on Sunday to a drag show. Men in makeup dancing around to loud music at the patio restaurant area. I asked an employee (who I will not name) and he/she said that this happens every Sunday, and they don’t like it either, but they work here and can’t say anything about it. If you’re going to host that kind of thing as part of your regular hotel’s activities, you should tell your customers so they know in advance. I wouldn’t have booked here if I knew. But if chubby men in bikinis shaking their butts is your thing then go for it. Not my thing or my wife’s though. Usually places hang rainbow flags if that’s what they are into. This place just springs that on you and it was not appreciated.

The towels, chairs and such aren’t really provided, we were told when we checked in that we had to pay an extra fee (required, not optional.) It was nice to have them waiting on the beach in the morning but they promptly remove them at 5pm sharp.

There is no place to do laundry and they have no service you can pay for. You have to go find a laundromat somewhere and have them do it. Inconvenient to say the least, and not what I want to waste my time on during my honeymoon. If you chose to rent here, so you don’t have to try and find one yourself, Condando Express Cleaners is the closest one. They have a drop off service.

All in all was okay. Could have been better, could also...
