Wanted to check out San Leandro's Farmer Market and what it had to offer. This is a wonderful farmer's market in downtown San Leandro. It is opened on Wednesdays from 4-8pm. There is an abundant amount of merchants who are selling organic produce, fruits, eggs, flowers, desserts and ready made food. I gotta make a shout for Alonso's Food! He was really nice, patient and answered all my questions with a smile on his face. He sells breads, assorted pastries, ready made pizzas, empanadas and cookies. You want it, he got it. I can vouch that his products are top notch! Too bad he doesn't have a retail store, but he also sells at Bayfair's Farmer Market on Saturday from 9am-1pm. There is a small parking lot and ample street parking. Just be aware that some have meters while others a couple of steps away do not.

Hubby and I shopped the Downtown San Leandro Farmer's Market today. We got wonderful fresh corn, Romaine lettuce, gorgeous artichokes, and a fabulous assortment of stone fruit......Flavor Grenade Pluots, Owen T Plums, Yellow Peaches and Nectarines. We also got ourselves lunch! Some yummy Assorted Dumplings and Boa from Dumpling King, and hubby got Ribs with unbelievably delicious Collard Greens and Baked Beans. Plus, a Sweet Potato Pie and a Roasted Corn Cheesecake we very much look forward to having tonight!! Great produce. Wonderful, friendly vendors, Free Samples!!! Do yourself a favor, and go. Try for street parking on Joaquin, as their small lot fills quickly.

The San Leandro Farmers’ Market is a popular family recreation activity that’s open seasonally from spring through fall. It features the best locally and regionally grown produce, as well as other items like fresh flowers and baked goods, prepared food items, and arts and crafts. The market is held downtown on Parrott Street. It frequently offers additional entertainment, including live music, wine and food tastings, cooking classes, and fun kid’s activities like art classes and face painting booths. The season varies slightly from year to year, so check online or ask a local before heading out.
