Love this store since it opened in San Marcos. I went flying in door 5 min before closing earlier this week, to grab a bag of feed and was not surprised to be met with "we are closing". Thanked the cashier and returned to my car, when a lovely employee followed me out and asked if she could help get what I needed? 50# sack of feed, she went and got it, checked me out and then loaded into my car. We have come to not expect that extra effort of service anymore. So, I was really impressed and shared with her manager and wanted to rate the store and her for my appreciation. Everyone was awesome. Quick responses to purchasing equipment, processed a return for me and was knowledgeable about products. This is a great outdoor store to have and blows the door off tractor supply. Actually have quality gear I need for hunting and outdoor equipment. Gun counter is great, they are patient and don’t offer unsolicited advice, no egos like the guys at cabelas. Also they have odd sizes of jeans and pants which is good for tall guys like myself.

Only thing is they put the miserable employees in the front to check everyone out. Maybe they are bored or something but everyone who checks you out seems like they are having the worst day of their life.

Still a 5 star review, but sheesh get these front desk people a job at tractor supply so they won’t be bothered since no one goes...

Checked their website and found a stock tank we wanted . We live out in the hill country and its's a bit of a drive in to the store. We checked the hours and they close at 7 which is early for a retail store but we had time to make it and we got there at 6:27. We didn't see the tank inside and at 6:30 they announced on the intercom that they were closing in half an hour so we asked the woman at the register for it and she said (and I quote) "oh, that is outside but they already locked that up, we open at 7:30 tomorrow" Murdoch's you owe me about 10$ in diesel and an hour of my time.... Also Tractor supply is open until 9pm and now has $800 that could have been yours if your staff wasn't so pre-occupied with closing the store. Really basic basic retail...
